Isn't it telling that these two guys define each other that way, you can't talk about either or the others chin without comparing their punching power too. GGG is the biggest puncher Canelo has fought, and vice versa, bar Lemieux.
I love these examples, but I consider this more an example of how much harder GGG hits than who has the better whiskers.
but lets be honest this is speculation. We can make an argument that Canelo's peaking is just right now or is just about to come. so you can say that GGG didnt fight canelo in his absolute peak as well. The thing with peak or prime its subjective. Others have longer primes that others. Some others peak in different times. So to base an entire argument on speculation just isnt fair. We can dream of a mayweather pac prime fight but we never got it. Either way a win is a win. Lets avoid a speculation and actually judge these guy's chins on fights they fought and not fights we wanted them to fight.
I agree as well! Canelo matches everything thrown at him with just power. His 3 power punch combos work tho, hes able to keep almost everyone hes fought honest with a few stick jabs and some hooks. Not a combo puncher tho.
Alvarez has a higher quality of opposition but that has to translate into the topic at hand. Guys like Trout, Lara, Mayweather, etc., don't help us much in this discussion. In regard to the big punchers Alvarez has faced, there are a lot of caveats. Cintron, Angulo, and Kirkland could bang at their best, but none could touch Canelo with a hand full of rice. Cotto was likewise faded and smaller, and Alvarez did a great job of neutralizing his hook. Both Jacobs and Kovalev are punchers, yet they had conservative game plans and landed little of note. Golovkin was the clearest test to Alvarez's whiskers and he passed, though I don't think GGG landed many full-on power shots, either.
Lemieux is an absolutely murderous puncher. How many divisions do you have to go up and down to find another one punch KO artist as explosive as him? Think about it You probably have to go all the way down to bantam (Inoue) and even then that's still debatable and all the way up to heavy in the other direction. He's long been one of the sport's most explosive one punch KO artists and he has dynamite in both hands This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected
ROFL They'd better arrest the ref then cause somebody whupped him bad cause somebody kicked Gingers azz TWICE!! but got screwed
Came here to say this. The best chin is the one that doesn’t get hit so if I was forced to pick I’d say Canelo by a **** hair. (and I am a GGG fan).
