Canelo's using all of the same tactics and language that Floyd was using to duck Pac for 5+ years.

Floyd/manny... And to answer your question, yes. It's probably the second biggest fight in the history of the sport, because GGG has such a big fanbase for fighting such mediocre competition. It will sell more than 2.4 million ppv buys when it happens, but still short of Floyd/pac numbers!

No, it only seems that way.
-Floyd was never forced by the commisions to fight Pacquiao (or lose his belt) like Canelo was vs GG.
-Canelo vs GG hasn't even been desired for a year yet. (Floyd vs Pac was supposed to happen in like 2009-2010 and didn't happen until 2015)
-Canelo hasn't accused GG of being on PEDs like Floyd did with Pacquiao.

It seems that GG's camp is really trying to talk as much trash on Canelo and De La Hoya as possible. Sanchez was asked if he watched the Canelo vs Smith fight and responded by saying no comment and seemed mad at Canelo. Which couldn't be more different than Pacquiao who was nothing but respectful towards Floyd. The least Sanchez could do was compliment Canelo on his win to create a good environment for future negotiations with GBP. If I recall even Floyd praised many of Pacquiao's wins.

The two situations really couldn't be more different. The only similarities is that it's a fight that the fans crave. Frankly, I think Abel Sanchez's interview after the fight was really telling. It was clear that his attitude and trash talking Canelo and De La Hoya is not the type of attitude that is going to make negotiations for a fight of this magnitude to happen.
