Ggg was robbed both times. In the second even more than in the first. But both excellent fights and ggg and canelo are two atg
I picked 1-1 because GGG was not robbed the 2nd fight. It could have went his way, but should have been a draw.
Golovkin is very unlucky to not be 2-0 vs. Canelo Disclaimer: I do not like Golovkin at all, or his fanatics.
GGG won the first fight 7-5 in my opinion Canelo won the 2nd fight, though a draw would not offend me. Canelo performed better. GGG is on the slip now and would convincingly lose a 3rd fight. Canelo is elite at 160 and 168 but 175lb is a step too far for him. Beterbiev would bang him out.
GGG was robbed twice and I really struggle to see how people can rate Canelo p4p number 1 with so many question marks on his record. Think about it, if the roles were reversed and every Canelo opponent was more marketable than him, he'd have 6 defeats on his record. 116-112 116-112 Crawford even without outstanding wins should be rated p4p over Canelo then boxers like Inoue, Usyk, Loma, Estrada... I rate Shawn Porter similarly to Canelo p4p. I'm also gonna throw my Shawn Porter wild card in, if Shawn Porter was marketable, he'd be undefeated and be rated p4p number 1 by people who have Canelo as number 1
GGG won both. Have no idea how people think the second was closer than the first.. I think people legit think walking someone down wins you fights.. No it doesn't.. Landed punches trumps this casual idea.. And it was clear in fight 2 that Golovkin outlanded Canelo with better, cleaner, more numerous punches in at least 7 out of 12 rounds. The second fight I had 116-112 to GGG. However they were close fights. If people are swayed by Canelos intermittent flashy punches (a lot which land on elbows and gloves) then so be it but he did not win the fight. Any idea of Canelo walking GGG down is ridiculous as well, GGG stood in the middle of the ring and I do not recall him ever backing up to the ropes. The most important part of this is that Canelo should have two losses against a 35/36year old. Quite embarassing really
I love the narrative that Clenelo walked GGG down even though GGG's back never touched the ropes once in 12 rounds. GGG boxed Clenelo's ears off going forward and he boxed Clenelo's ears off going backwards.
I'm going to be completely honest here and admit that whilst I feel that GGG was robbed blind in the first fight, when it comes to the rematch I feel he was robbed blind in that one too.
