I believe Golovkin will win the fight. But that being said I actually think it will be a lot easier for David to win then most people seem to think.

GGG is a fighter that feels his opponents out and then goes to work and his power is better at mid range then in close. He is a decent infighter but his power is not exceptional at this range. Kassim Ouma and several other fighters have shown this. All Lemieux has to do is get in close and continually take the play away from GGG. If GGG never gets a chance to feel out Lemiuex on his own term he won't be able to set up his offense the way he normally does. Lemiuex will always have to weather some tough spots but he could even win a decision but just making his aggression count.

My dude, GGG is great with his range and "ring generalship." It's well known that he has great footwork. And Lemieux is hittable even when he's coming in. Even Torres hit him well, imagine if it was GGG instead of Torres.

Ya the foot work is actually the secret to GGG's whole game plan. And the fact that it is excellent is why I'm picking him to win. All the being said my point is that if a guy can get on Hassam N'dam's chest and work him on the inside you shouldn't dismiss his ability to do it against GGG's.

And yes Lemieux is hittable on the way in but like all pressure fighters the key is that if a fighter is moving backwards the power is much less. Lemieux has a good chin as well. So although you always have to be worried about a fighter getting hurt by GGG at any point there are other situation that I expect to be more dangerous for Lemieux then when he is moving into range.

I expect that GGG will hurt Lemieux when he is on his way out, or while playing defense on the ropes, or when GGG pivots into a different punching angle on the inside. Those are the scenarios I'd be most worried by if I was in Lemieux's corner. Specifially because of the footwork you mention.

Frankly, if GGG has enough boxing ability to take a step back and clock Lemieux with a check hook or a straight right while he's on the way in the Lemieux is really in trouble! But show me the fight where GGG has done that and I'll give you a million dollars:D

Anyways I'm just playing devils advocate here because it seems like no one else will on this prediction thread. I'm just hoping for a good fight Saturday night.

Lemieux by UD or 11th round KO. Lemieux has improved his stamina and punch output in the late rounds tremendously, so I predict that GGG runs out of gas before he does, then gets stopped or go in survival mode to make it to the end. Yes!!!!!!!

Lemieux has the power to keep GGGs head down for a few rounds, but I cant see him holding Gennady off for more than 4-5 rounds. Golovkin by around 5-6...
