I just cancelled dazn, it's ****ing ****. In australia, they pumped up the price per month an extra $10 -$15 without prior notice or warning, just started debiting my account extra! The stream quality is **** and content is virtually non existent.
For UK and Ireland for reference the Canelo v Plant ppv was priced: £19.95 in the UK on BT Sport Box Office. €29.99 in the Republic of Ireland on BT Sport Box Office. The price isn't terrible but 5am PPVs are a hard sell over here.
It's a bit pricey considering the state of the economy but what we have here is the 2 best fighters at 160/168, they have a long and bitter history and have already given us two great fights, if this fight is not worth that price then which fight is? Their 2 previous fights did over 1mill PPVs each but based on the reaction here I'm guessing the third one will fall short of that.
To be fair I was only using him as an example of one of the bigger cash cows. His undercards are generally alright compared to some of the lower profile fighters. I understand the difference for us in the UK as it takes some effort to stay up or go to bed early and get up at 5am. I'm really critiquing the whole business model itself. It's alright if you have people coming around otherwise it's a bit steep for our brothers and sisters in the US.
