Who has the more proven chin GGG has taken shots from Jacobs ,Canelo, David Lemieux, . Hagler has taken shots from Leonard ,Hearns,Duran . So who has the more proven chin ?
Both showed excellent punch resistance. But Hagler has fought far better opposition, and faced more and better punchers.
Jacobs and Canelo are two strong punching MW's, Hearns and Mugabi were MW's that hit like Cruiserweights (or in the case of Mugabi he apparently could hit like a HW). GGG's chin could well be as strong as Hagler's but so far it has not been tested to the level of MH.
Hagler ofcourse was knocked down once ( against Roldan ) It was a flash knockdown and he looked like he was offbalance at the time. I,m not sure if it was a legit kd ( referee did give him a 8 second count )
I think it would take the whole of Hagler to beat Golovkin. His chin alone would make for quite the spectacle though.
Hagler has a more proven chin, but hard to say better. GGG hasn't shown any weakness in that area so it's impossible to know.
