Thoughts? Providing The Hit man doesn't get carelessly caught,He either wins by ko or 12 round decision. From what we know of GGG,how would he handle a guy with Hearns reach ,boxing skill and power? Hearns must be careful, also taking into account his absorbing of punches.
Tommy Hearns wins every fight on paper. Except he had some flaws in his game that cost him fights. Not sure whether Golovkin beats him or not because we haven't seen him face many top level guys like Hearns. Just have to see GGG`s career develop a little more before we can make an informed ****ysis.
Tommy was KO'd by Barkley and in trouble against Roldan. In fact, Schuler was probably his only great performance at MW. It's true that Golovkin hasn't really been tested yet, but the times Tommy was tested by strong, hard punching MWs he didn't convince. The smart money must be on Golovkin here.
Not sure. I'd like to think Hearns could win ( and in truth he could have. ) but I just don't feel comfortbable betting against Golovkin.
Hearns was a welterweight that always reminded me of LH Bob Foster. Long and lean and extremely hard punchers. However, while they were great punchers, they were not strong enough to move up in weight class and retain their dominance. As great as Foster was, he had very little success in the Heavyweight division. Same with Hearns fighting middleweights. In GGG, hearns would be fighting a very talented, durable and hard punching full fledged middleweight. Result, GGG too strong and stops Hearns.
All depends on how well GGG can take Tommy's power IMO. Tommy would be landing first and hard, if GGG walks through his shots it's curtains for Hearns.
