I can't see this happening. Surely GGG wouldn't go up to 175, and can BHop get down to 168? I don't know. Only two scenarios: BHop Pavlikifies GGG, or GGG ends BHops career, and possibly his life.
What weight is that even gonna take place at? I don't see that fight happening but granpa Hops would still be a stiff test for him.
Troll post, right? Only "good" power? lol. Doesn't have boxing skills? Yeah, cause a guy without boxing skills could be an amateur world champion and an Olympic silver medalist, along with a great amateur record. Stamina suspect? Look at compubox vs Stevens. His punch count goes up each round, ending in a huge number of punches in the 8th. He's working a lot in that fight. His average punches per round is way above the MW average, too. I see no suspect stamina. Weak defense? Do some homework. Many breakdown videos around the Internet by trainers and other good sources breaking down his defense (and offense) and his opponent-control tactics, which is defense as well. His defense is subtle and economical, and easy to miss if you don't know the technical side of boxing, but his defense is top notch for his aggressive persuasion. Anyway, BHop with a size, weight, and reach advantage could pose some interesting problems for GGG. I'd like to see if Golovkin could handle someone mauling and smothering the **** out of him. Can he shorten his power? Can a smart, cagey inside fighter smother him? I'd like to see. It's not a fight I'm gagging for, but it could show us some things about Golovkin IF BHop has anything in the tank. I've always said that I'd take Ward over GGG at 168, and Hopkins might give a little insight as to how Ward would do inside.
I don't think he'd do that. If he insisted on fights with Winky and Pavlik at 170 years ago, I'd hope he wouldn't be inclined to go any lower than that now. In all honesty, this fight makes no sense to me all around. And yet, I can't help being excited about the prospect of it all the same. But if this does come to fruition, please let it be at 170 or higher. Draining a 50 year old who just lost 12 of 12 rounds in his last fight would surely earn Golovkin more mock than praise. :smoke
Wrong. The most likely scenario is similar to the Kovalev fight: GGG will just outwork Hopkins keeping him in his shell and earning a confident UD.
Kovalev has a longer reach and came in with a grood war plan. I can see a decision for B-Hop here but you never know of these Hopkins fights.
So Golovkin will only fight Ward if it's at 164 or lower but he will fight Hopkins well above that? Hmm... I see zero chance that Hopkins can make his old stomping grounds of 170 pounds anymore, even. It would have to be at 175 and if Hopkins were forced into conceding weight, I couldn't imagine it would be more than a couple pounds.
