It'll be at 164. It needs to stay consistent with ggg's demands for ward. hopkins already bragged he was at 172. makes sense. this allows ggg to be a ppv item. if he beats hopkins, this allows him to lure people to ppv money. imagine lemuiex and company lured in by ppv money. this is why they held david back. if he fights ggg now, he makes less money than a post-hopkins ggg which can get on ppv. even ppv on a small scale makes you more money than hbo, if you do your numbers right (not spending too much).
he said in radio raheem video he was already walking around at 172 and has given hints throughout after the kovalev fight he was going to look to see how his body responds after bringing down his weight. do i think its doable? yes. do i think its to his detriment? yes. do i think its a good idea for him? not really.
Who said that? Because Golovkin said untill he has unified all MW belts he is going to fight at 164, in the middle betweem 160 and 168. after unifying he can go up in weight forever.
Of course he can. He was 172.5 against Murat and Shumenov. He could go down to 168 easily. Nothing exceptional in that.
What is so funny? Try to go in a gym at least for a month and you will understand how it works. It is just 4.5 pounds for a 180 guy. It is nothing.
It's nonsense. People were complaining like mad that Ward "drained" Dawson. Hopkins is 50 years old and coming off a fight where he lost 12 of 12 rounds. So what's GGG's plan? To drain a 50 year old coming off the worse loss of his career to the lowest weight he's fought at since 2005? Seriously? You're right! It's nothing! Hopkins may as well go all the way down to 160. Only 15 pounds. :smoke
I dont think BHop was rehydrating very high, 170 might be reasonable. Doubt this fight happens anyhow.
I actually think it might happen. But at the end of the day, if it does, and it's lower than 170, then GGG is going to receive far more mock than praise - especially if the old man can turn back the clock one final time. :smoke
