It doesn´t matter what weight it will be, GGG will beat Bhop at 160 or 172. Of course it will be a bit more difficult when other guy is 10-14 pounds heavier..
Oh, that much goes without saying. Everything he does now is just gravy for Hopkins. The entire boxing world already has and will have, for generations hence, utmost respect for him.
Nothing would please me more than to see Hopkins end another hype train - especially with all the moronic nonsense I see spewing from the GGG faithful. That said, Hopkins is 50, and apparently he's going to be badly drained, coming off the worst loss of his career. At the end of the day, if this happens, GGG will receive far more criticism than praise - regardless of outcome (but obviously if Hopkins does a number on GGG - it would be awful for Golovkin, but tremendous for ESB). :smoke
You're not sold on GGG? Are you in the camp that feels he needs to go up and meet Ward to prove himself, or is there anything he can do @ 160lb to gain your respect?
I gotta go home after work and put my 14 yo hound dog to sleep. This was the first smile I've mustered all day.
I do agree that GGG will get more criticism than is worth the win at this point. It's been the case with Hopkins for a long time. He hasn't been eorth the risk in 10 years, but nobody seems to learn.
Not a man of his calibre in all of boxing today. And unlike Jones Toney etc....He's actually gonna try to win.
Hopkins has nothing to loose, while GGG becomes a laughing joke, should he loose. Especially when you consider Hopkins is the only creditable fighter he's faced as of yet. I don't think GGG should fight him.
The man is 50 years old and wants to fight one of the most feared fighters in boxing.. He is going to need every advantage he can get to even be competitive.. I say make GGG go up.
