HBO has blown it the past yr by showing Ward Kovalev and Yeller vs...who were those two chinny Brits, and then passing on Pac v Vargas which was a great fight and out-did expectations even without HBO promoting it.

Seeing Cuadras get shafted again, followed by GGG blowing Jacobs out in a couple rds will not sit well with fight fans, who will have had suffered thru Cotto blowing out the corpse of James Kirkland, and readying themselves to see Yeller do his best Floyd impression while Jr blows his wad in 3 rds then quits on his stool and fires up a hooter in the ring.

 

Firm offer of 1.65 is still double his last 2 fights. But yeah, he got a mil for Quillin and is demanding 2 mil for GGG.

That said....looks like K2 is prepared to get the money bwo HBO PPV....huge mistake....just give Jacobs another 50K, life changing money, and put it in the media the day bids are due.

Everyone knows Murray beat Sturm 117-111.
We also know he KD'd Sergio X 2 en route to a 116-110 win. While the Abe fight was the closest of all his title robberies, it was still a clear 116-112 workman like decision.
Thats A level in the opinions of many neutral observers and even to critics, he's was still considered a top 3-5 MW when GGG blasted him out.
Lemiuex didn't go life and death with NDam. Are you crazy. He scored 4 KDs and outworked him for 12 rds. Far better than Quillin who KDd him 6X and STILL coulda lost in the eyes of his haters. LMAO.
As for Rubio being A level....I can only say this......he'd probably knock Danny's head off his shoulders as fast as GGG will.

Rubio, when GGG beat him, was a top 5 MW, the WBC interim champion, and a multi-weight titlist with something like a 85% KO rate.

Murray had robberys vs Sturm, Martinez, and Abraham. Was definitely a top 3-5 MW when GGG fought him, and the rightful unified WBA/WBC MW Champion.

Lemiuez lost to Rubio trying to blast him out for 21 straight minutes. He gassed, was rocked and his corner pulled him out. Props to Rubio, a tried and true champ, for hanging in there and getting him outta there. A fight later and Lemiuex was scared to death of gassing out and wouldnt throw his shots, knowing another vet like Alcine might weather the storm and came out tentative and on strong, too late, and lost a narrow decision. Alcine hasnt been a top MW in a long time, maybe ever, but he's won his fair share of fights, and for a 22 y/o kid, he might have been the wrong choice of opponent for a comeback after gassing, esp since Alcine, for all his faults, has always been an excellent pace fighter with good spacing, a solid spearing jab, and a nice counter hook. He's there to be blitzed out, but if an opponent is gunshy.....theyre gonna lose some rds.

Ouma....was an ELITE fighter with HOF potential. He was horribly managed though, and got put into one too many wars prior to fighting GGG. Once an A grade fighter, the multiple time titlist just didnt have good management to get him into the better styles matches or proper preparation for the tougher fights he was throw into.

But even on a weeks notice, he would still show up to fight and never gave anyone an easy out.

 

PPV? Screw it, get it done.
