It feels so real it is like Vladimir Putin is sitting next to you watching the fight and cheering on his Russian comrades!

For the dough Haymon would have to spend, K2 would buy out GGGs HBO contract, which is effectually, fight to fight ATM.

HBO would NOT risk losing the potential even for the Canelo fight, or Mayweather comeback.
They'll let Haymon put it on SCB or Showtime PPV if K2 signs another multifight arrangement and simply pass on this one.

They don't wanna put this on PPV anymore than we want it on PPV.

But with Cotto and Pac essentially retired, HBO will NOT do anything to spoil what they've got in GGG/Gonzalez duo.

Tough to find a better pair making fights.

Haymon could bid 10 mil. Jacobs would get 2.5 mil and 25% of gate, concessions, PPV whatever. Hell.....Haymon could even ask HBO to carry the PPV.

GGG aint dropping shiit....except of course his opponents who dare enter the ring with him.

HBO will happily allow GGG to fight off network if it means keeping one of their megastars on board and the mega fight of the yr in view

    Cotto.....even past prime, is still A level. He's a f/n HOFer, and a top 20ATG L/WW, and p4p top 50 ATG. So yeah.....Cotto is A grade.
As for Chudinov. No, not yet. He's got the tools to get there, but so did Boystov and so does Fury.
But regardless.....the reason WHY Sergio was able to box Serhiy Dzinziruk, Darren Barker, Matthew Macklin, and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr within 24 months when he met Murray, but couldnt move to slip a range finding jab vs Cotto was because Murray, was cutting the ring down to such a degree, and pressing Sergio for 36 minutes, he was caught at odd angles, and eventually tore something on his way down from a Murray OH R.
That Martinez just beat JCCJr 35 minutes to 1. Sure he got hit and hurt in that minute, but no worse than shopworn Mosely hurting Floyd, or china chinned Judah putting Floyd on qu33r street.
Point being....only Margarito....who very well may have had cast wraps in that fight was the only other fighter to bring so much pressure on Martinez that he broke down.
Cotto bought the title. Fair play to him. He went out and wrecked Sergio like none before. But it was the Murray fight that truly ended Martinez' run at the top and anyone who knows ANYTHING about boxing has to at least give serious consideration to that anomaly in Martinez career prior to Cotto.

As for Murray beating Sturm......I mean come on.....seriously....it was 5 yrs ago and in a different weight class.

Sturm only moved up because he'd lost his speed at MW, and thought maybe his power would carry. And still.......I wouldnt favor ANY of the SMW Champions to outclass him unless Ward decided he wanted to keep boiling down.

How is Floyd above Ward if Ward thought the better comp when you look at the individual names and times he fought them, plus Floyd has two dodgy decisions with Maidana and Castillo 1?

The middleweight division hasnt been stacked since mid 2000's so being a top 5 guy is not the toughest thing for Christ sake a tiny cotto managed to snatch a belt there. Sturm has never been A grade fighter even in his prime, his a guy who has counted on fighting in his home town and has lost every time he fought anyone of more not to mention Macklin got a draw against him so is he A grade too?.

Martinez has a case for A grade in his prime but at the time he fought Murray he was no longer the same and you saw what Cotto did to him after. I see your logic your basically just saying so and so beat this guy and his a future HOFer but it seems your not considering when they fought the guy coz that matters. If someone beats B-hop, Toney, Jones right now of course they were all A level guys but surely you wouldn't say that person have an A grade resume because those guys are washed up at this present time.

He's not a megastar though, he's one of their biggest stars but in boxing his not a megastar, they have 3 left atm Canelo, Cotto and Pac. You saw they wouldn't let Kovalev take that Stevenson fight on Showtime when the Purse bid was ordered.

I'm not sure if GGG has the same deal with HBO that Kovalev does, so I guess it's pure speculation on my part but if he does then he probably will have to drop the belt. Hopefully the fight gets made and we say two guys with power going at it. Purse bid is looming atm so we should have some more information soon.
