If they put it on Canelo's undercard next May, everyone would get PAID. Then winner gets Canelo in Sept, assuming he wins his 160 debut fight. That would be a dream scenario. Of course, they have to make this fight sooner. And no it's not PPV worthy. But, I would buy it. Hopefully, both guys can paid enough to make this fight come off.
I think that's a good idea, have a JOINT PPV with both Canelo and GGG on the card and call it COLLISION COURSE.
Just got the inside scoop. GGG - Jacobs is on for December 10th. Fight is agreed and the non-fight specifics are all that's left to be signed off on. It is not going to be PPV.
Even if the fight was 50/50, this would not be a PPV worthy fight. There really are no PPV worthy fights out there. In my honest opinion, Canelo vs Golovkin is barely a PPV fight, Canelo is most assuredly a PPV fighter, Golovkin isn't no matter how hard HBO pushes him. Golovkin has a vocal minority of fans, that he can pull to his shows, but people from across the nation (the largest market) aren't willing to spend the money on his PPV. PPV really needs to go the way of the dinosaur. You can't really blame Golovkin, Canelo, Floyd, Pac or any fighter per se. The niche sport boxing has become and the weak overall PPV cards has caused this.
