Mark says Nunn never faced anyone at 160 as good as GGG. Is GGG "better" than Toney at 160 with both at their prospective best? What say ESB?
Toney would box his ears off! GGG is WW and undersized MW while Toney is big MW who face and did good against WW and hardest MW/LHW punchers. Toney would beat him very badly winning every round but GGG chin would save him to the end and that would help him for not losing by TKO.
I can see a draw here with GGG making the fight but Toney landed the cleaner punches. GGG scores an early knockdown to wake Toney up. A KO either way is absurd.
Golovkin is by far the greater boxer at middleweight and until he got old boxers were either pretending that he didn't exist or were actively dodging him. Toney never left a swathe of destruction in a division like he did and GGG has proven himself to be the far more consistent operator. I think Toney gets a great deal of old-time rose-tinted glasses directed at his career, and it's probably because of what he did after 160. At 160 GGG has the engine and the firepower to win. Call me when Golovkin draws with Sanderline frickin Williams.
Peak, in-shape Toney mugs him off. GGG doesn't even have a Puncher's Chance. Obviously if Toney doesn't give a **** about this fight, GGG wins. But I'm assuming that the OP means that Toney is in shape. Toney slips GGG's best shots and counters to the body in combinations. That'd probably make GGG a little gunshot like he got vs Canelo and Jacobs. Great fight. Toney UD.
Yes mate the best of Toney. Lets say the Toney from the second McCallum fight. He was mighty impressive that night.
Toney is one of the small number of guys who can stay on the inside with GGG and neutralise his power. I expect Toney to win a decision, soemthing like 7-5 or 8-4 but i do not expect a one sided fight like some guys do. I always thought GGG beat Canelo both times, especially the first. However, Toney is more skilled than Canelo, especially when fighting on the inside.
