Toney is erratic on his punch output. Yes GGG did throw 700+ punches vs Canelo. If we to use GGG in his prime, it's different. How about we use Toney's punch stats at light heavyweight tor heavyweight when he was a similar age.?

For example GGG threw 816 punches vs Murray and that one dint even go the distance! A prime GGG would out works Toney, out jabs Toney and hits harder. If you want to be honest Toney's rather round face cuts and swells up a bit.

I predicted a duck and here lies the duck.

The power punches were landed in majority by Jacobs. In 8 of the 12 rounds , Jacobs outlanded GGG on power punches. This is why the fight was so close as power punches represent clean and effective punching.

A jab or grazing jab is clicked off in the total punch category. Those type of hits don't capture the eye of the judges as much as power punches.

You can't respond to these facts , that is why you have responded to arguments i never made.

Now , if Jacobs can out land GGG in enough power punches to make the fight razor close , what do think the more active and far more skilled Toney would do?

I’d probably favor Golovkin more often than not, honestly. I have to agree with the criticisms of Toney. He definitely could win, but if I was a betting man I’d go with the more consistent performer.

Even with a fully prepared Toney, I don’t think there’s much, if any, of a class difference between the two at their respective Middleweight bests. Nor do I see any major stylistic advantage for Toney. Pick ‘em.
