I appreciate the technical clarification, but when to super champ vacates the belt and runs for the hills rather than fight the regular champ, the regular champ wins by default. That's why regular champs deserve credit for their title defenses, they are after all defending against organizational contenders as well.
BUMP! We've got a few new posters here since this rode off into the glorious ESB sunset. Get your votes in, tho at 93-26 i think Toney is pretty safe.
Bump, we have a small influx of new members if they want to comment and or vote. 98 votes for Toney at this stage. 27 votes for GGG at this stage.
I've had enough of debating about Golovkin to last me a lifetime. But I'll go with Toney based on the fact he beat a much higher level of opposition. And if Golovkin never really went all out vs best fighters he fought in Canelo, Jacobs, fighting them in very cautious jab-fest fights. I don't see that working vs Toney who managed to out fox the likes of McCallum. Overall I'll go with Toney by decision, and this is one of the reasons when I was debating about Golovkin being in top 10. Some people claimed because of the "eye test" he warrants being in top 10. But yet when you have fighters like Toney, Jones, SRR, Nunn, McCallum, Monzon, Hagler, Tiger, Greb, Hopkins, etc I'd argue against it.
