I'm 36 and lived through the 80's, my first fight was Tyson vs Douglas. A lot of that era I never watched live, because I wasn't aware of US boxing at the time because I live in the UK. Not many fights were promoted as they are today. Benn, Eubank, RJJ, Toney and Collins were some of my favorite fighters in the early 90's. I've seen MW classics on youtube. Ilikeboxing is not just a rubbish username. I like watching classic fights.

Danny Jacobs is a good fighter. If James had him on his MW resume, yes, I would recognise it. But Danny Jacobs is not an elite fighter.


Regarding BoxRec, it's a very useful tool for weights, dates and venues. But I don't use it to back up my arguments, because I advocate the saying: "statistics don't allow for circumstances"

Michael Nunn was a boxer.

He was blessed with great footwork and reflexes.

He was a rangy southpaw who relied on his great technical skills.

Other than sharing the same profession, they hardly had any similarities.

For a guy so intent with saying I make up stuff. If you want to copy and paste the time I said Jacobs was "elite" for me, I'll gladly eat humble pie and let you win this argument. I compared him to Nunn, they are both similar in many levels as I pointed out earlier. Not in every single way like an extra 1 inch height advantage or one of them is south paw.

Johnson would more than likely get KTFO vs Jacobs. Drained Collins would struggle as well.
