Toney is way too slick. I think Pirog stood a decent chance to outbox GGG in 2012 (damn the cruel mistress, fate) and even as much as I like Pirog he was never half as slick as prime Toney.

Golovkin made Canelo miss with a LOT of his punches by "turtling up" and stepping back. Why is it that this is something called defence when another guy does it but derided when it's GGG? Also look at some of the rounds in slomo. Golovkin's defence is much, much better than you think it is. He does the bare minimum to pick off or slip punches.

Reggie Johnson was ranked top 10 MW for 5 consecutive years. Journeymen don't hold rankings , let alone a top 10 position for 5 years straight.

Jacobs lost against the only 2 A -leverlers he faced so how can he be A level? Look at his record.. Its completely empty of top rated opposition and he exists in a weak MW era.
The only top 10 guy he EVER beat is Peter Quilin who we now know was finished. He's beat nobody and i hear he's targeting non-ranker Spike o Sullivan next. Good boxer but not elite.
The fact he ran GGG so close and arguably beat him says more about how overrated Golovkin is opposed to how great Jacobs is.

Martin Murray was in the MW top ten for 5 years, and he was robbed vs Martinez before he got injured. Johnson is on the MM level. Jacobs right now is better than MM ever was in his career. That's just how I see them matching up.

Jacobs lost to the 2 of the best MW's of the past 20 years. Pirog would have been world champion at MW, even if he lost to GGG when they was scheduled to meet. A lot of boxing fans have them as equals when it come to skills and they could've had some great match-ups together the likes of Toney had vs MM. I've never called Jacobs "elite". GGG at his absolutely best is an elite boxer. Jacobs was a very talented "World Class" operator whcih I personally think Nunn was at the time he faced Toney. Nunn was never "elite" to me. Elite fighters don't get brutally knocked the **** out like that, not in their primes. MM was also "World Class", to call him "elite" is absurd.
