Age doesn't change styles, Golovkin's is made for Toney's. Golovkin may have been in decline in those fights but they were also the 3 best fighters Golovkin had faced to date and they made him look his age for the first time.

Toney in his prime would make prime Golovkin look like a very old man.

Which come forward boxer/sluggers did Toney face to compare him vs GGG. None of them are as technically sound as him. Nor as accurate. Nor have his chin, stamina and ring awareness.

Age dosen't change styles. WTF are you on? Of course it does. Look at Tyson for one example

As soon as aggressive fighters lose a step, they become less effective. 2013 GGG disposes of Brook, Jacobs and Canelo by KO. Not, TKO, KO.

we don't know what GGG's power is like. We've only seen him dominate and knock out bums. If you want to say his power is some of the greatest ever but Brook willingly stood and traded, couldn't knock out Jacobs(who was dropped by Mora of all people and ko'd by one punch by Pirog) and didn't hurt Canelo, we can't base it off the kos of Geale, Rubio, Lemieux(who was ko'd by Rubio), Stevens(Ko'd by Lemieux) and those other bums. Yall want to diminish the all time greats for fighters they've ko'd but give GGG credit for beating guys that wouldn't get in the hall of fame in 500 years

Tyson didn't change his style he simply declined. You're confusing decline with styles.

A fighter can decline, become worse but they basically stay the same fighter. Tyson was an aggressive puncher before his decline and he was the same after his decline, he just became more hittable and didn't throw combinations like he used to, but his style was pretty much the same.

How has Golovkin's decline changed his style compared to his prime? Fact is he hasn't changed at all, he's just gotten a little worse.

Tyson declined with age. This may come as a shock to you but people get slower with age. I know for a fact my 32 year old self would more than likely have the advantage in a fight if I decided to try and teach him a lesson because he'd be faster, stronger than me. Would a younger version of yourself kick your ass now, think about that for a second.

I never said GGG's style changed, you did. You're trying to spin this debate to suit your needs. I said he lost a step, nothing else.

GGG at his best couldn't even beat Jacobs or Canelo clearly, log off. Canelo at times boxed circles and danced around GGG with ease. RJJ would have embarrassed and dazzled GGG with a combination of power speed reflexes footwork and foot speed that GGG has never seen, it would have been funny to watch.:deal: But what else is new for a guy like you who thought Kovalev would KO Ward and GGG would KO both Jacobs and Canelo. How did that work out for you dumbass?:risas3::risas3::risas3: You need to find a new sport to watch because boxing isn't for you, you're always on the losing side.

I gotta take Toney in this one. I think Toney is one of the worst matchups for GGG. If Canelo looked like a red headed freckle faced Floyd Mayweather against the ropes slipping punches vs GGG, just imagine how badly Toney would make him miss and pay for his shots.

Toney 7-5 or 8-4 in a great fight. But a fight where GGG takes alot of clean counters and gets beaten decisively.

I'm not disagreeing with you here, Golovkin has declined. I've said that multiple times, he isn't as good as he was. But the reason for my pick of Toney over GGG comes down to the old truth that styles makes fights and Toney has a clear style advantage.

Toney eats alive fighters that come to him, as he's a pure counter puncher with great inside skills and the ability to be elusive on the inside. He struggles with movers and good defensive fighters that can take away his counter punching via movement or slick defence as in his losses to RJJ and Griffin.

Golovkin is none of these things. He doesn't move well, he isn't elusive. In fact Golovkins strengths play into Toney's strengths.

As for your personal anology. 40 year old me now would kick the 20lbs skinnier 25 year old version of me. I was far stronger in my 30's than I was in my 20's. But once again, I'm basing my pick on styles not age or the belief a guy that ate up heavies and cruisers would be daunted by a much smaller mans power.

I guess you have Toney beating Hagler as well than because he gets hit more than GGG.

You didn't ask for a weight, you asked for a style of fight. I gave that to you. Don't run away now.
