GGG vs James Toney at MW

GGG has a draw on his record it's not like PBF's 50-0-0 now is it? Yeah you're on the losing side Ward is Kovalev's daddy and will forever own him and you. GGG's power is overrated never once hurt Canelo and a smaller and older PBF beat Canelo so easily that he didn't even have to get out of first gear, while GGG went life and death with the smaller man and got touched up in the process and earned a draw.

RJJ is too much of a athlete for GGG to contend with such an extreme advantage in speed and reflexes GGG would not be able to see where the punches were coming from. GGG doesn't fire back when his opponent opens up Jones would have realized this early on. RJJ would have teed off on GGG with 4 and 5 shot combos at will and been out of there like nothing. This would have gone on all night and GGG's face would have been a mess RJJ hits more than hard enough to get your respect and he would have made GGG's work rate reduced and shelling up waiting for the fight to be over. It would probably be a corner stoppage because he would have been so helpless in the ring from clean counters and flush shots he didn't see. Like I said earlier it would have been funny to watch RJJ eats GGG alive.

 

so 3g has three wins and a draw against world class opposition. SO has Badou Jack. Is Badou gonna knock out Marvin Hagler as well as James Toney too? Or does he not get that comparison in your eyes cos hes not got the same melanin content.

When RJJ fought Toney they only did post fight State commission drug tests so it becomes very specious to just assume fighters from that era were better. Comparing them to a guy who does year around VADA is apples to oranges but we both know that!

Its quite funny Toney is allowed off nights and GGG gets scrutinised for below par performances(which are rare)

 

Styles make fights Toney is one of the very few MWs I would make a significant favorite over GGG

 

absolutely not because the issue here is that 3G has rarely needed "to be on". Hes had to be on perhaps for 5 fights in his career.

If toney only needed to be "on" for five fights, he'd not have lost.

3G's off nights can have been anyone of his crappy IBO-only defences, but you wouldnt know it because the opposition was generally so weak.


Just before you start I am not saying all his IBO defences were bad opposition, just most of them. And nor am I saying 3G is poor, hes obviously world class.
