Here is a fight I wonder about. Golovkin vs. Julian Jackson.

Whenever Jackson is in a match-up you just never know. He could lose every second of the fight except the final ten. You could be correct in predictive analysis for 99% of the fight and still get the result wrong.

That said, he most (certainly not all) of his better destruction at 154.

It's a tremendous fight, it really is.

I rate Jackson as the more devastating puncher. He took people out in a way that Golovkin never did (except like once).

GGG's chin is iron, simple. But Jackson's power rocked bigger men like McClellan.

I'm leaning towards GGG because he isn't as vulnerable, loves to scrap, has huge power himself, and puts on immense pressure.

Then again you can have all of those qualities and Jackson could still turn your lights out. Damn this is hard!

This is bad, JJ is not some killer at MW, GGG on the other hand is. GGG stops him in 3-4

GGG is a far more skilled fighter than Jackson was and is better than anyone Jackson faced at middle and better than any fighter that Jackson beat, Canelo would have beaten Jackson, Julian didn`t fight at this level at middle.

It is not every day that I agree with you, but this is spot on and pretty succinct!

Jackson was a very good fighter, and thanks to his power could upset even greater fighter, however GGG might have the best chin of all time at 160 pounds, and is more skilled.

GGG via TKO in round 5-7.

GGG more durable. I can't see Jackson blasting him out of there. This one goes past midway, with GGG grinding Jackson down and stopping him sometime after the 7th.

I definitely wouldn't be getting up to go get a beer or to the bathroom for the first couple rounds though hahaha

I don't think you know much about Hearns. You rate him by his losses and not his wins. You simplified his style and made him into a brawler who if he doesn't get guys out, the fight is over. Which is why I mentioned Virgil Hill and Benitez.

I should have said Nigel Benn vs. GGG.. I am not good at making threads. I think GGG is overrated a bit. But that is the nature of discussion.

Nah, GGG pretty much gets rated fairly. He has a couple of fans who think he is a top 5-10 MW (more in general than here), and a few who thinks is a hype job....for the most part most recognize that he is/was great and a handful for any MW ever, even if he wouldn’t beat all of them. Hearns/Jackson at MW though are seeming to be higher rated than I feel is warranted.

Edit:GGG would likely beat Benn at 160 but 168 would be an explosive war that I would be hesitant to pick

One thing people comment on is his chin. I don't think it has been tested enough for what someone said is granite. He is usually moving forward, which is a great style and takes away the power of the fighter moving back. If he moves up in weight that granite will be tested.

If he moves up in weight you may be right? At MW I feel like I have seen enough to tell me he has an elite chin.
