I think Holmes keeps this close for a while before Golovkin wears him down for a late stoppage. Thoughts?

GGG would beat Holmes more impressively than Hopkins did. Holmes would not last the distance.

Holmes was very good fighter but GGG is on another level. GGG beats hom down and stops him mid to late.

Holmes wouldn’t beat Jacobs either. He would beat Lemieux.

Keith Holmes was way bigger than Jacobs and had a much larger reach. 6'2 78"... Jacobs -- 5'11 72"

Jacobs was a smaller version of Holmes who was known to be chinny and Golovkin barely beat him.

Keith Holmes was never stopped in in a career of 46 bouts so best case scenario for GGG is a close decision on the cards because of Holmes size and reach.

Remember that Callum Smith fought like Keith Holmes and Golovkin avoid a title shot and big pay day against Smith. Golovkin didn't like to fight guys who were bigger than him. He might have even avoided Holmes.

Btw , Hopkins shut Holmes completely out and he would have done the same to Danny Jacobs who GG badly struggled with

Jacobs can punch, Holmes wasn't a big hitter. Holmes was below the jr middle limit when he started out. Way bigger you say? Um, nope.

Holmes lost more than Jacobs did.

Jacobs beat top ten opponents, did Holmes?

By the wya your information on Jacob's reach is wrong. 73" is accurate. You height listing is close, but off as well. Why am I not surprised?

    Play again.

My height listing is correct. 6'2. He's much bigger than both Jacobs and Golovkin. Chinny Jacobs was sparked out cold and floored by non-hitters.
If Golovkin struggled with a chinny and smaller version of Holmes , then reality dictates he would also struggle with the real Holmes.

    Hopkins dominated Holmes.

Holmes was much more of a pure boxer than Jacob's. Jacob's likes to bang where Hilmes is a much longer guy that liked to work on the outside. I really don't see much similarities between the two ro be honest. I do think Holmes was capable of much more than what he accomplished. Being with Don King did not do him any favors. I don't like him against GGG but I could see him be very competitive with guys like Jermane Taylor or Kelly Pavlik.

GGG struggles if you take his jab away. Holmes makes it competitive boxing on the outside and makes it to the distance losing a close one on the cards. GGGs power came from the looping hooks from 90 degree angles. Can't see him trowing those punches at Holmes.

I see the fight going much the same has GGG'S fight with Willie Monroe. GGG is just to strong and too experienced. He has always fought very well against southpaws going g all the way back to his amauter days.

Size has its advantages in the ring. Monroe is a small guy with feathers as fists. Only a 22% stoppage rate. GGG struggled with Ouma and Derevianchenko

He struggled with Dervianchenko because he was sick and also 37 years old. A few years earlier he wins that easily. I don't recall him really struggling with Ouma but it is obvious we don't agree here. Weird since I really like Holmes a lot and have defended him on this forum a lot. I just don't see him even close to GGG's level but like I said, I could see him beating a guys like Pavlik, Taylor or even Arthur Abraham. The guy had some skill and used his length.

I was at the Taylor-Holmes fight & the way Don King & his fav referee robbed Quincy of his title was diabolical. Sure he got caught & was knocked down but not hurt. Holmes attacked thinking he had him hurt while Quincy blocked & avoided all the shots. Suddenly in comes Richard Steele & stops the fight. I though Curtis Cokes was going to have a heart attack he was ready to take Steeles head off. Holmes was managed by Kings stepson Karl if you didnt know. Bernard Hopkins was on the same bill & said to Quincy " Man you were robbed you should get a rematch" Quincy said " No chance of that look how long it took me to get a title shot against Julian Jackson" Nard said "OK man if you cant get one & I fight him I'll kick his ass for you" He did just that too. Nard also said "Quincy you & me are the two best middleweights out there we've got to get it on one day you know"
