A fringe contender who lost to the best fighters he ever fought, and won an undeserved decision against Rosado is irrelevant PERIOD!
Pavlik was an elite fighter... He lost to two of the best fighters of this era, which says A lot about his talent.
Pavlik hits way too hard too. I would be an interesting fight but I think Kelly's 1-2 would be hard for GGG to take.. I guess it would come down to chins at the end.
If Lem and Jacobs had G fighting cautiously due to their power, I would hate to see his output vs someone with Pavs size and power. G would be boxing behind a jab this fight... he would not be the offensive juggernaut people are used to seeing, and that would negate a lot of his effectiveness, and Im also not sure he has the actual boxing ability to win the needed rounds decisively enough against a powerful pressure fighter like Pav. People thinking G dominates this are off the mark. Pavlik is huge, powerful, and G is too easy to hit for someone with that level of power. It would take some slick counterpunching or exceptional athleticism to counter Pavs strengths... not sure G has enough of either to be truly effective. I just dont see how this isnt 50 50.
I've got GGG late stoppage or ud, but theres no denying, if Pavlik can land that 1 2 its gonna be a problem for anyone. GGG's chin saves him but lack of head movement is a problem for him in this fight. He could zero that jab and right hand in with great effect and regularity before he went down hill. I don't think Martinez beats Pavlik of the taylor fights either !
