    Makes sense...

    Winner should fight winner.
If ODL and Arum want to take that May date and shove it down Floys throat they should definately stack this card.

Kirklands on the scene saying he doesnt want a tune up.

For as long as it lasts that would be one hell of a fight.
    GGG KO in 3

Honestly I dont think K2 would go for it. Tom L has said that GGG is not an undercard fighter, while it could be possible that an exception would be made for some reason... I dont think it likely.

Plus Anne Wolf has said repeatedly, no way Kirkland goes anywhere near GGG. Said he needs to be fighting at 154. Anything can happen, but this is unlikely.

The only possible way I see GGG on an undercard... is if Korobov beats Lee, and Arum offers a Korobov unification fight. Not sure that would even be enough, ODH/Canelo and Cotto would probably have to also both agree in writing to face Golovkin in a preliminary bout agreement should they win.

I was against this fight a lot when it was first rumored... kirkland is a 154lber and should be buidling himself back up there to eventually take on the champs there.

But, since he seems intent on sabotaging his career and doesn't make sure the fights he should be getting actually happen (canelo, rosado) then he might as well take a G fight.

Wont last more than 5 rounds... probably the first two... possibly one.

Never have i seen someone destroy their own career as bad as james has....

Good post. The last point is the most important. There's no way GGG takes a fight on that undercard without a written guarantee that he gets the winner of Alvarez - Cotto next, in which case it makes sense.

Otherwise, he's better off sticking with the original plan. He's the highest profile fighter left in the division; Alvarez or Cotto will get the biggest payday fighting him. And that's been the dynamic that, until now, wasn't working in GGG's favor.

Whilst initially Golovkin vs Kirkland gets peoples under *******s wet it's not that good of a fight at all, infact it's an absolute mismatch.

Sure Kirkland has power but here he would be on against a man with greater power and who is light years more advanced in every possible way.

Kirkland would be lucky to see the end of round 2.

Yeah, GGG's fighting Murray in May. If he wants another knockout win after that and before a potential fight with Canelo/Cotto, then I suppose Kirkland can get it too.

You mean the thing where GGG's manager said a date on the 16th "might" happen?

GGG- Kirkland would be a mismatch Kirkland is a street punk always will be. Ann Wolfe & Pops Billingsly gave that punk chance after chance he just let them down every time. He had the chance to turn his life around a la Bernard Hopkins. He had great support from Wolfe & Billingsly like Bernard had from Bouie Fisher. Kirkland lacked the heart of Hopkins though & has never lost the street punk ways
