After years of over-marinating, this fight may finally happen. They're both over-the-hill, but better very late than never, right? https://fightnews.com/wba-orders-golovkin-lara-fight/138300
Prime for prime GGG all day but at this point it wouldn't surprise me if Lara and his legs wins this on the outside.
Unfortunately, the IBF is ordering G to fight his mando as well and i think Ggg will end up going that route and fighting Falcao next. I just think G still to this day wants no part of Lara in the ring. Hopefully im wrong tho because thats still a heck of a fight imo.
This is the best fight for both fighters. Both fighters are about the same age. For GGG it's a low risk fight in terms of taking punishment as Lara isn't known as a big puncher. But he's a slick highly skilled boxer which woud be a good test for GGG at his advanced age. I truly hope this fight happens, some may think it would be boring, but I don't think it would. GGG would be far more willing to throw hands because he doesn't have to worry about Lara's power like he did Canelo. At the same time, Lara has the skills to win rounds against GGG and make it a close fight on the cards. This is the fight that makes sense for both fighters, especially now that GGG is out of his DAZN deal. He can move to PBC now and make this fight.
Lara has looked pretty sharp lately. I wouldn't be excited about this as GGG especially since his feet are the thing that look like they are really in rough shape from age.
