Weird fight in that it's a unification world title bout in which one fighter hasn't fought in almost a year and a half and the other hasn't fought in more than two years. Murata is not much different than many of the guys GGG beat but that was when he was younger. Golovkin looked so slow in his 2020 bout against Szeremeta. I have to think he is even slower now. However, I just don't think Murata is the guy to take advantage of it. Golovkin by decision, 8 rounds to 4. On a secondary note, I really hope Triple G doesn't fight Canelo again. That fight won't last six rounds and would be a sad way for the Big Drama Show to be cancelled.
I dont see a problem for ggg but murata should give trouble early on,beside i see ggg wining tko11 late stoppage.
I might have voted for who I want to win rather than who I think wins. All depends on if GGG aged too much or not.
I'm going against the grain here. I see GGG getting stopped by a young strong fighter who also hits pretty hard. I think GGG in his prime wins this hands down but he isn't close to being in his prime and if he fights Canelo again he's going to get stopped so I'd rather this boxer finish GGG off.
He's not 40 though is he? Hasn't had alot of grueling fights either so compared to GGG he's pretty fresh.
Isn't Murata a pressure fighter and a big middleweight ? Im not so confident GGG will walk over him easily like everyone says he will. It is true that Murata has been inactive for almost 3 years but still Golovkin is getting old and Murata looks like he has a good chin. It might be to the point where Golovkin is so easy to hit that it costs him on the scorecards. Then again Murata has zero head movement himself Perhaps Golovkin stops him in the mid-late rounds like i think he does, or perhaps he joins the long list of upsets that have happened this year
Murata is a come forward face first plodder, without even a modicum of the head movement or inside fighting skills of Derevyanchenko. This will be target practice for even a diminished GGG, and I say that as a fanboy of Murata. Walking down GGG has never been a good idea for anyone he's been in the ring with yet. Just ask Steve Rolls, who tried that approach, and paid dearly for it. So mull this over, Munguia had far less success with Szeremeta than GGG, and Berlanga should've lost to Rolls. GGG in the words of Roman Reigns... Smashed 'em! That's a largely past prime, "shot" version, performing far more impressively than two young knockout artists. So yeah, GGG's got this. He stops Murata in 6.
I'm going to pretend Golovkin still has some gas in the tank. If so, he knocks him out mid rounds. murata's defence is not very good, and although his chin is decent you don't want to rely on chin vs a bomber like GGG. If GGG has gotten old then Murata is exactly the type of fighter to bust his cherry with his high volume, high aggression style and it won't be pretty.
