For a virus that is literally less dangerous than a hangover Is GGG some super liberal or something? This virus has almost single handedly ended his career
This fight was always meh to me. GGG should forget Murata and pursue fights with Lara, Munguia, Andrade or Charlo.
GGG went from fighting 3 times a year to 1. That's what done him in. I just think he lost faith in boxing and it's institutions. He can't be bothered with it anymore. Canelo and his (though is endemic everywhere) corruption tainted boxing. The virus is real and a real threat to many people: vulnerable people, and there are many, as well as healthy people who would be sickly for a few weeks. You've also got mutations, if lockdowns/travel restrictions weren't a thing I wonder how many mutations we'd see!
This is why i feel like he should just try to pursue the bigger names in the division. Hes not getting any younger, and his legacy really needs it imo. MURATA does nothing for him at this point.
This one started in Africa so unless the whole world religiously follows lockdown rules this would happen. His career was done after the second fight with Clenelo. He is in cashout mode. I am more worried about his long term neurological health.
He is the biggest name in the division. Other than money? Fighting Charlo or Andrade doesn't bring him much either.
Whos the biggest name in the division? It doesnt bring him Murata type money, but those names have more value on his resume than Murata does. Screw the money, its time to fight for you place in the history books.
The virus hasn't ended anybodys boxing career. He is where he is because he refuses to fight anybody with a pulse.. Japan has had some of the harshest travel restrictions in the world since the pandemic begun. It was stupid for him to keep waiting for that fight. He could have fought a unification fight with Andrande and be moving onto his next opponent by now but he refused point blank to fight anybody apart from an inactive no defence come forward slugger.
Can't move it to Macau or Vegas? This isn't June of last year, people have experience now making backup plans on top of backup plans if they're serious. This should cost them their belts, if it isn't a small delay. Let guys who are still active fight for them. Murata hasn't fought in two years.
