Sacrificial Lamb Yes. Bum Yes. If the Murray of the Khomitsky or Spada matches shows up he won't last past 4.

Khomitsky is a good fighter in spite of his record. A close battle with him doesn't make you a bum.

As for Spada, despite the close scorecards when they went to a technical decision Murray had been outclassing him...albeit having a slightly harder time with him than Rubio did, but styles make fights (and Rubio himself, I maintain, despite the lack of professionalism regarding making weight and the fact that he quit, was and is no bum)

He was good in the Spada fight, you just couldn't see it because the ref allowed Spada to sit on his chest with his head in Murray's face.

You have a weird definition of "bum" if you're applying it to a guy who most feel was very unlucky not to win titles against Felix Sturm in Germany and Sergio Martinez in Argentina.

Just because Golovkin is an A+ fighter, does not make B+ or B- fighters bums. Hell, even a C level fighter isn't a bum.

I just don't like Murray that much, I never have, he's never impressed me Rubio was a far better test for GGG than Murray is, Murray lacks heart in most of the easy fights he's winning in I can't imagine how scared he'll be it the ring with GGG. He may not be a bum, that was just a play on your post, but he's not that great either.

I've made the same B and C argument you mentioned in threads I've made before, I just think Murray isn't a great fighter, he didn't beat a past it faded Sturm it was a draw and should have been, he didn't do any better than Macklin in face he may not have done as well. As far as the Martinez match goes, Sergio was a shell of his former self in that match, his hand and knees were shot, and still Murray lost the fight on points, Sergio outworked him. He didn't get robbed he deserves nothing more than a draw at best.

    This guy DKSAB!

Who do you suggest he fights? Quillin? Cotto?

Or let me guess, Ward? Who is Ward fighting again or is he going to wait around for a GGG payday?

He lacks heart, punching power, speed and movement. His only advantage is size which he can't use. He is getting stopped very early.

He f***ed shot Martinez up ? He couldn't achieve anything close to what a blown up welter Cotto did. Yes, he is the same level as Sturm, but Sturm sucks.

Murray finally realized that GGG is his only chance for a good paycheck. Murray can't fight in the U.S., and all good money fights are currently only available there.

I’m a massive GGG fan. But he has fought one guy anywhere near Murray’s level in Macklin.

Murray isn’t a flash fighter but he does a lot of things well, is tough as old boots and has a habit of being able to slide shots through a very good high guard and his demeanour. He certainly isn’t a defensive genius, but he does just enough to take the sting out of shots.

Martinez was not ‘faded’ when he fought him. He was the best guy at the weight at the time and have him one hell of a ride.

This is a genuine test for GGG. Murray will keep him very honest and will be the bigger man. He can also get in the trenches too. And I’d like to see how GGG copes on the inside with him.

Talking about hyperbole and then egging GGG up to ridiculous standards is hypocrisy manifest.

He is a machine. But every machine needs to be means tested. And Murray is just that guy at this time.
