The Ghost was a monster mw 6'3 and in his prime a fearless fighter. The Brook fight showed Golovkin vulnerabilities. This would be a fight eerily similar to Tszyu vs Phillips. The much bigger Ghost hammers GGG . Ghost via 10 tko. Fighting like this would lead to GGG demise. http://i.imgur.com/1Lq91RR.gifv
I'd favor Golovkin at this point. In fact, I think he goes right through Pavlik's resume (although I don't know how GGG would fare against Bernard since he's such a wild card.) Pavlik had good size and excellent power at 160 lbs, but Gennady is more complete as a fighter. He'd be the more skilled and more powerful man in the ring. It would be a great fight for however long it lasted though as both men have offensively aggressive styles.
I've always favored pavlik in this matchup ... you has to be mobile to give kp issues. Ggg isn't mobile and has no head movement
I suspect GGG would outbox Pavlik and win a decision, maybe late tko, stopped on his feet. Great fight. I was a huge Pavlik fan and attended the Pavlik/Taylor 1 and Hopkins/Pavlik fights. GGG is the better boxer here, better pedigree. I'm sure both men would be busted up and wobbled a bit.
Pavlik loses to Hopkins therefore Pavlik beats GGG. Froch loses to Ward therefore Froch beats GGG. The beard principle.
No way would GGG fight Pavlik or Jacobs or any big puncher like he fought the smaller Kell Brook. It's silly to even compare. Look how GGG fought Lemieux. He controlled the distance and pace with the jab. Boxed circles around Lemmy. Pavlik would certainly be competitive, maybe even really wobble Golovkin. It would be a great fight.
