    Who wins?

We already know GGG hits harder than Povetkin according to shared sparring partners

“He’s a ****ing beast,” said Coyne, a 20-0 cruiserweight prospect who has recently dropped down to light heavyweight. “He’s been running guys out of here. Nobody under 175 pounds will spar with him.
“I’ve sparred with heavyweights who can punch, including Mariusz Wach and Mike Perez, nobody has hit me as hard as Golovkin. His power is out of this world.”

We know GGG can dish it out at HW level, but can he take it? Povetkin's not a glass jawed, can-crusher hypejob like Wilder, Povetkin is one skilled dude. This might be a difficult match for the God of War, but if someone can pull it off it's him, the Sam Langford of this era:bbb

It's not reasonable to compare a top class middleweight to a top class heavyweight, regardless of the punching power. It's a silly comparison and Povetkin would easily knock him out if they fought.

GGG by savage KO, Povetkin's chin is not the greatest by any stretch. He was wobbling from shots from Huck & he didn't like Rahman's jab the few times he got him.:grouphug
He would make Alexander a good boy.:hey

Stupid thread, GGG would be beaten at SMW. Don't make him out to be a beast that can beat top HWs.

It would be foolish to pick GGG here. Historically, even the greatest punchers become mediocre punchers when going up a few weight classes:

    • Outside of Hatton, Pac hasn't stopped many opponents since he went up to 140+

    • Hearns destroyed everything in his path at 147, but was reduced to just a "good" puncher at 160.

    • Bob Foster was deadly at LHW, but not so much at heavyweight.

    • Bob Fitzsimmons and Langford are both p4p great middleweight punchers and carried their power up to what was heavyweight back then, but they were about 180lbs - supermiddleweights of today.

    • Broner didn't stop anyone since he moved up from 135lbs

    • Abraham clearly wasn't as heavy-handed at 168 as he was at 160.

    • Believe it or not, but Mayweather carried quite a lot of pop at 128/130/135, but didn't score many stoppages above that weight.

The list goes on.. I rate GGG very highly, probably the best middle we've seen in a decade, but he's not going to survive against Povetkin.

I've heard sparring partners say he hits like a heavy weight but he wouldn't be able to take HW punches and hes too small. Even wilder would beat him.

You idiot Golovtards are getting ridiculous with these Triple Duck vs Heavyweight threads. How in the hell is Triple Duck supposed to challenge HWs when he's too afraid to get in the ring with 168lb'ers?
