Looks like Schaefer and al haymon are the ones continuing the Cold War. :bart

Edit: mod deleted the source I posted so I'll summarise by saying ggg's team made an offer to Schaefer to fight on hbo.

Schaefer suggested an open trade between the two networks. Golovkin has a deal with hbo so that's not possible.

What do they mean by open trade?

Schaeffer's well aware Golovkin's signed exclusive to HBO, he's even commented on it in the past and said he was open to Quillin fighting Golovkin on HBO in his "Make us an offer" tweet.

Exactly....it's getting ridiculous. Lying to the fans is not cool.

I do like that Arum mentioned he would revisit the Chavez-Golovkin fight, possibly for Mexican Independence Day - meaning they'd be looking to bump off Mayweather from the date. I don't think a high cost production like a Mayweather ppv, which will already struggle to break even could afford to go up against a strong, less expensive card like Chavez-Golovkin.

You have got to be kidding right? HBO would not be so foolish to make that fight on that date, Floyd would fight Canelo again and stack his card with Mexicans out of spite. Arum is all talk

I used to be a fan of Quillin, but he's all talk and his scary a** won't even fight Danny Jacobs on Showtime.

Yeah Bob's just bitter that Mayweather gets to hog the most lucrative dates, but he's not going to go up against him.

As for this situation, I think it's hardly shocking Schaefer and Showtime would want something more out of letting Quillin compete on HBO than strictly monetary compensation.

Putting Chavez-GGG up against FMJ PPV would be a stroke of genius actually. It might not outsell the Floyd fight (but it well might) but it would murder the sales of the Floyd fight. Bob and HBO need to send a message that they wont take the crap Team SHO has pulled lying down, putting a relatively low-cost/high interest PPV against Floyds PPV would be a great way to do it.

You're nuts. First of all Chavez has demonstrated that nothing he does in the future with TR will be particularly low cost going forward. Second, the US carriers won't allow head-to-head PPVs; they wouldn't have when there was all that talk of Chavez-Martinez and Canelo-Williams going head to head and they definitely wouldn't in this case. And the show they're overwhelmingly likely to side with and carry is the one with the biggest established draw in the sport. Finally, I'd say trying to run a dueling PPV guaranteed to lose money simply out of spite isn't exactly a reciprocal answer for all the suppose crap Showtime has pulled.

    That's the point, man.
Richard knows GGG is tied to HBO, he tells GGG team to make an offer (which logically means they are ready to discuss the possibility of Kid C fighting on HBO), but then when the offer comes, he proposes an open trade. He was bluffing.
