some boxing fan u are u idiot .what hyman and show time did was disgusting and
underhanded thanks to those clowns the ggg vs Chavez fight fell through just like kovelav vs stevenson.and u really believe they want to put quilen in against ggg get real ggg would kill little pete and they know it.it doesn't matter ggg's profile and popularity will continue to rise he's got plenty of other options when Martinez ko's cotto hbo will force a ppv fight and after that ggg can move up fight froch and ward on ppv.

I'm a boxing fan who does not appreciate fighters who themselves lie to the fans by saying they want to fight a certain fighter. Promoters too.

I want to see the best fights.

This is clear Schaefer and al haymon are the ones continuing the Cold War, not hbo.

Pretty sure K2 know that GGG is the future of their brand. Im almost positive that Wlad would have no problem stepping down to co-main. Or triple main adding KOvalev to the bill as Main Events seek only to make known they promote the best LHW in the world.
Like I said earlier, if Mayweather and GBP think they are bigger than the sport, the global market will dictate otherwise, as it's becoming so much clearer these days that the best fighters are no longer TMT/GBP/AH fighters.
It's also becoming clearer each day that Floyd,Haymon, and GBP are hiding in disgrace behind Showtime.

It's also seeming like Oscar is ashamed of the disgrace. He's trying to pull his brand out of the fire. He realizes that letting Floyd and AH make the rules has made him a laughing stock........Oscar himself never ducked anyone.....yet his own brand is squawking and quacking like the fowl they are.:yep:yep:yep

Dont confuse exciting / anticipated fights with 50/50 matchups. Pre-fight pretty much noone expected JMM-TB to be anything but a chill outboxing match.

Also, "name" power and reputation are different in this context. Neither Bradley nor JMM had a reputation for making the fight. That being said, it still 80% of the buys as PAC-Rios. It was a successful promotion.

PPV numbers aren't based on 'global' sales, though.

No need for PPV, why would I pay to watch Canelo get outclassed by Floyd a 2nd time when I can watch GGG vs. Julio for free on HBO

Kind of like what what Showtime did to HBO with Josesito Lopez vs Canelo on same night as PPV of Julio Cesat Chavez vs. Sergio Martinez PPV

No I'd say one good reason for trying to poach Chavez Jr is because he actually already is a huge draw. Indeed, that seems like a bit better reasoning than doing it all simply out of fear about Golovkin becoming one.

Bradley and Marquez were coming off two of their most exciting performances of their respective careers and Marquez's popularity among the Mexican fan base was at an all time high. And I'd say it's more than a bit convenient to use Pacquiao-Rios as a baseline for success when that fight was regarded as unsuccessful PPV-wise.
