I'm not trolling. Serious question here. Since I see people saying that GGG would "punch his way through Oscar and Tito" I'm wondering how he does with a MW Roy Jones in your opinion. Now, I think this fight, if he is as good as everyone says he is, turns out to be a decent one for a while. One thing I have noticed about GGG is that he definitely has a good amount of ring smarts. He's no clumsy, plodding, oaf. Is his speed and defense good enough to get to Roy while not having to take too many punches on the way in? Or can he fight Roy at a distance, or at least at medium range? This content is protected But I would expect GGG and his power mixed with efficiency and ringsmarts to trouble Roy for a few of those rounds.
a Prime Roy (pre-Ruiz) would make GGG look like a total fool, and KO him late. A post-Ruiz Roy would get cold KO'd with the quickness. Stupid thread.
I don't know about being a "stupid thread" but your points are well taken. I think RJJ takes him late.. but post-Ruiz RJJ could never make 160, so obviously I'm not talking about that version of Roy. :good
Unlike most of the fighters GGG has dispatched of late, prime RJJ had the power and speed to make him far more hesitant than he would prefer. Against Macklin, for instance, GGG could stalk relentlessly with little regard for the offensive arsenal of his opponent. RJJ, on the other hand, was an altogether different animal. Think Sergio Martinez, whom I think in his prime could have troubled GGG greatly, only faster with more power and all around better defensive acumen. RJJ doesn't stop him, but he does pound out a comfortable decision.
prime RJJ has the speed and power to keep GG off for the whole fight and make him miss, he'd probably cruise to a decision, unless GG would somehow find a way to catch him current RJJ would not last 2 rounds with GG
Golovkin by 3rd round KO. GGG is unbeatable. 27 have tried and 27 have failed. Look at all the names that succeeded against Jones. Styles make fights.
i'm a huge ggg fan and hope he continues his success. i'll be pulling for him. his talents are evident but lets not get carried away, mw roy jones goes honey roy palmer on everyone ggg has fought professionally. one day, all his opponents. and mw jones isnt even a prime jones. ggg has the power to take any mw out but i just don't see him ever finding jones. too quick, too good. jones may not stop him but he def wins a comfy UD. now a prime rjj vs. ggg at say...170ish...ggg is laid out in under 5. edit to note: you ****s better know who honey roy palmer is :yep
You'd have to say Roy Jones everytime. Let's wait until we see Golovkin in with a true pound for pound level player before we anoint him as a head to head great.
They weren't all bums. There's a few that were above bum status. Anyway, the point is, he's unbeatable. All these fighters are scared of GGG.
