GGG needs the Canelo fight, because Canelo has starpower. If he beats Canelo then GGG becomes a superstar himself. If he wants to be named along the likes of Hagler, SRR, SRL, Hearns, Duran, he needs starpower because those guys all had that.

After that he needs to unify MW and beat BHop's record of defences. Then his place in History can't be denied. Especially with his KO record.

H2H I think he beats Duran, and he can knockout Hearns.

SRL, SRR, and Hagler I can't say for sure. It can go either way. I think he will have hard time knocking those out so he will have to win by decision. One thing is that these fighters have been proven past 12 rounds. GGG only has gone 12 once. I am not saying he can't do it, but he is not proven to fight that many rounds against top competition. So that could be a factor.

But if he wins Canelo, unifies, and beats BHop's defence record he is definitely one of the greatest MW champions of all time. What he does after that will only add to his legacy.

Nobody great. Some good fighters. But he has been fighting the best around/what is available at his weight. And the way he has been beating them has been impressive. Also his career is not over yet.

 

GGG loses to SRR, Leonard, Hagler. Might beat Hearns because of Hearns bad chin. And might beat Duran because Duran was a lightweight.

 

I don't know if Canelo gets him there, but it would do a lot. Let's see what happens. I think he needs one more really good fighter to get to that level after Canelo. I think he has to move up and beat someone like Ward to be there.. Move up and show you are not just beating guys smaller or less.

 

I think Hearns knocks him out.. Hagler knocks him out. Ray outboxed him. Duran? Honestly, this is a good style for Duran. A guy coming toward him like that.. I wouldn't count Duran out with this style. Now give Duran Mayweather and he loses..
