Kalambay UD. GGG has never faced anyone as slick and skilled as Kalambay. It would likely be a close fight. But, If Sumbu could outpoint Prime McCallum, he has an excellent chance of doing the same to Gennady.

Can you see GGG ability to cut the ring off swaying the outcome in his favor?

You know, Robert, it is hard to say. I still haven't totally figured out whether GGG has just drastically slowed down in the last few years, or, if his highlight reel devastation was really a result of sub par opposition. I really like GGG. But, I think he looked pretty bad vs Canelo, Jacobs, Brook, Lemieux, Monroe.... Honestly, the last time he really looked good was vs Geale. And, Geale went on to get pummeled by Cotto as well, so, not sure he had much left. At a certain point, you have to question if he is honestly as good as HBO would like us to think he is. I have absolutely no questions about the boxing skills of Kalambay. I wish we could end the speculation, and make this fantasy fight a reality. It would answer a lot of questions about GGG.

Agree about Sumbu ,Smoke.. poetry in motion. I was watching G on YouTube befor a lot of people in the U.S. heard of him and I honestly believe he just got old. He's not nearly as fluid as he once was and I can just see how his movements are that of an older man now. A lot of wear on that body. We missed his best yrs when he was avoided. Guys were waiting for him to slow down. Canelo especially who has been heavier on fightnight than G for many yrs. Same thing happening to Beterbiev now. Just my thoughts.

Kalambay certainly had the set up to give him a very hard nights work. The guy who out pointed McCallum and Graham gives him fits ,gets a decision win .The younge GGG puts more pressure on him but would still find him at times so frustrating to deal with.

Kalambay on points GGG hits very hard and is a good boxer but sumbu was a brilliant boxer fast decent power almost impossible to hit super slick and physically strong and fit .Gives any middle weight in History a very hard night hugely underrated.

I'd favor Sumbu on points. I think he'd be too slick and cute.

I pick Kalambay by decision. He would make GGG look ordinary.

I hear you. It has all but ruined Beterbiev. He has gone from a force of nature to a missing person. And, I too was frustrated that none of the top names had the courage to face Gennady for many years.
