this fights not going to happen because it could ruin kirkland i think james beats everyone at 154 other than maybe lara and im sure jackson feels the same. who the fu-ck wants to put their fighter in with a guy who can throw 650 punches(550 power) in five and a half rounds and has proven ko power? to put this in proper perspective canelito threw just 400 total punches against trout and 500 against welterweight floyd mayweather. wtf is a guy like alvarez going to do if james is not hurt going into the sixth round and is outthrowing him by 2.5 to 1 punches and undeniably with more power in each shot? hes going to get beat down.
Terrible fight for both, maybe if Kirkland was undefeated wouldnt be too bad but hes already been stopped in 1 round it would happen again Golovkin doesnt need to be so busy if hes not gonna fight legit 160lbers
Cant imagine Kirkland being able to find Lara when his eyes will be swolt shut after 2 rds of being peppered from across the ring.:think
speaking of triple G, i can't find his pro fights vs: Balogh Navarka Gomis Mokoena Khomitsky Bouadla Sid ... in case anyone has found them somewhere.
I don't want to see this fight. If GGG doesn't blast out Kirkland he's in for a war, and if he does, Kirkland will suffer a huge defeat. Either way, this fight could potentially be draining on both men. I think Mayweather should fight Kirkland if he isn't going to fight Pacquaio.
Doubtful Kirkland takes this fight, like many have already stated but I also doubted that Stevens would fight GGG. So who knows? One thing is for certain, HBO wants it to be Kirkland, considering the only other name being mentioned has been Geale.
He went into the Ishiida fight cold and already worn out from 3 consecutive camps without a rest.He spent his entire time out of prison in the gym or on the road running. He was sparring 15-20 rds every day, going thru 3-4 sparring partners in a day. Not saying Kirkland has an iron chin, but if guys like Angulo, Tapia, Julio, Vera, and Cortez couldnt put him away, then I doubt Ishiida would have if circumstances were different. I hate James Kirklands out of the ring antics, but I got mad respect for his heart and willingness to go 110% during camp. He's also a very humble and respectable fighter, and I think that the Ishiida loss may have ultimately helped his career, b/c surely there are guys out there like Canelo, Cotto, Martinez, etc who see that loss like Rico and the chincheckers see the loss, as evidence that Kirkland is a MW Seth Mitchell. An easy mark for the KO. I think the long rest he's had, and the renewed sense of urgency he's got are gonna get him further than most think he can go. Not saying he stands a chance vs GGG....but I wouldnt bet against him vs Quillin, Martinez, Canelo or Cotto.:think
