Loeffler was joking. But for me it’s interesting that they don’t wanna fight til next May.
I think he should stay active.

So Golovkin is on a last ditch money grab before retirement. I see absolutley no problem with it at all hes only looking to do what many many fighters have done in the past. I do see problems with finding a weight they can all agree on though. Cant see it happening at all.

He just fought a couple of days ago FFS. Did you expect a fight signed already?

It didn't sound like a joke LESS than 12 months ago :deal:

10/26/2017 “If there are serious negotiations and the package for GGG makes sense, we would make 154 for a fight against Floyd Mayweather” -Abel Sanchez

and form the horses mouth himself

02/28/2017 "You know I'm not too big, 30 days before my fight I'm like 165lbs “Especially for Floyd, of course, I would go to 154lbs ." -Gennady Golovkin

    Last year, you stand corrected.

"You know I'm not too big, 30 days before my fight I'm like 165lbs “Especially for Floyd, of course, I would go to 154lbs ." -Gennady Golovkin

    ALso regarding Pacquiao and Mayweather:

The Kazakh sensation has admitted he is eyeing up a potential showdown with one of the iconic fighters and when asked whether he could make the requisite weight limit of 154 pounds, he provided an emphatic answer, per Luis Sandoval of fighthype.com:

“Absolutely.” said the undefeated star. “This is business. I understand; this is boxing business. It’s not a lot of weight to lose. My last fight, I’m 58. I’m not big guy.”

That would have been at light middle, Pac would be super slower carrying 160lbs and he`s never been hit by a middleweight, but yes Canelo would have been far too powerful also, this all needs to stop, Pac was a great offensive fighter and Floyd was great too, but everyone has to let the past go, this is getting stupid.

He`s sad like Khan, he just wants an autograph with a legend after knocking them out as for Khan he just wants an autograph from a legend...

But that`s the point, Pac and Floyd are half a decade older along with being too short and small.

Maybe he wants to use them as a tune up after taking all those power shots.

I'm pretty sure it was Freddie Roach who was talking about having Pac fight Canelo and Roach rightfully got a lot of criticism for it.
