Andrade would have been an intresting option though I think he’s gets broken down if he doesn’t stay flawless and he can be lulled into a pissing contest when it’s unnecessary.

If I was on Golovkin's team I'd push HBO hard to accept Andrade as a replacement, I think he lacks the self control to stay out of trouble.

Just take a look at boxrec. Andrade is ranked 6th, Sergey 7th, Sullivan 27th

 

Boxrec rankings don't mean too much IMO. 3G beats all three, gets close to the same credit for all. And while Sergiy and Demetrius maybe be more talented than Spike, they are yet to show it in the ring. But anyway, it's not that i am against any of those from occurring. if they happen, that's fine. Just prefer they stay on schedule, fight in May. That's my concern.

 

I don't understand the hype about Derevyanchenko. Sure, he's got a solid amateur record (390-20), and he's Ukranian. But he's only had 2 fights that were 12 round fights. Against Tureano Johnson, he didn't look flawless either. He needs a test that shows how good he really is at middleweight. A fight like Andrade would be a good one to see how good he is. And by the way, I'm not saying he doesn't have the potential to be a very good fighter at 160, but so far he just hasn't been tested.

 

Actually, Saunders turned down the fight. Andrade doesn't want it either.

The only one who actually wants to fight GGG is Derevyanchenko.

It’s not a fight we wanted but we can’t blame GGG for this one.. This is all on Canelo.. I would have much loved to see Jacobs/Charlo/Saunders/Andrade but with just a months time I can understand why pick Spike.. And honestly I’m just not that enthused about GGG/Canelo anymore as I was before.. I would rather them fight the other top contenders in the division such as the four listed above before fighting each other again
