I'll agree to disagree with you.

Respect to both fighters, but I think Canelo beat him both times.

IMO Gennady was elite based on the amount of wins he had over B-type fighters and in the way he was dominating those guys but I wished he had a win or two over other elite fighters to cement that.

I gave canelo huge credit for his performance tonight and actually staying in the pocket to fight even though I detest the man. Not to mention a valiant resolve to stand up and take GGGs best shots.

But but we can not forget he patiently bided his time for GGG to get to this point in his mind thirties as we all knew he'd eventually slow down thereby giving Canelo his greatest chance of dancing with the terminator.

2015 prime GGG relentlessly overwhelms canelo and takes him out within the distance.

This is why boxing needs to adopt the UFC approach and force fighters to fight eacher or they get fined and banned

Lara? Meh. When GGG was at his best he could trap anyone. No one is going to be able to run away from him or shoeshine him to a decision win. His footwork, ability to cut the ring, power and stamina were too good. He was about as perfect a pressure fighter as you can get, in my book. Like JCC.

You are free to disagree, of course. There is no doubt in my mind that GGG would wreck Canelo if both were in their primes. It would not be close. He's simply too strong for him. And the shots and opportunities GGG was missing tonight would not be missed. Canelo can't hurt GGG, and in his prime that meant you can't beat him. It's not enough to pot shot and be on the move, he'll track you down and get you. Which is why Mayweather was not interested.

Over the last few years (since GGG turned 33-34), those abilities have faded. We all saw GGG sucking air tonight. It happens. Stamina fades with age, as does timing and other qualities.

I think Canelo will get a (non controversial) win if the fight goes to a Trilogy.

GGG is not going to improve, he will be 37, and his physical attributes will have slid a little bit more.

It is a shame as I think a 31-32yr old GGG stops any version of Canelo.

Fully agree, and I think GGG will hang them up now. As he should. Unless he just wants one more payday. Otherwise, it's time to go in my opinion.
