He will be the greatest MW ever on ESB until he loses. Then he becomes evidence of a weak era. People need to have an opinion, that isn't extreme as hell, and stick by it unless their feelings genuinely change, in which case they still wouldn't be able to refrain from extremes.

The thread starter should step back and take a deep breath before making such statements. GGG looks terrific and is a breath of fresh air. But before beating an ATG with a granite chin, he has to beat better fighters than Macklin (no offense to Macklin, but he's no Monzon).

:verysadyou know, this site is incredibly.....in-credible. We have a
future HOF'er with KO power like we've not seen in a while but
an unwilling opponent pool for him to quickly build his resume,
but he makes for exciting events. However, on one side of the
fence we have 'we'll call them fans:roll:' who instantly annoint
him GOAT and on the other bitter haters who say he's a hypejob
who won't....won't?! fight top guys in the division. Yes, it's this bad.
All the while nobody from GGG's team, including himself, have EVER claimed
to even be the best at 160. In fact, they've been quiet as a mouse and
patient and have fought regularly to keep active, stay sharp and learn.
So......:huh I'm thinking the problem is in today's boxing is that it has
the stupidist, most dense, spoiled, and double standard creating moronic
fanbase in the history of boxing fans. Racism, classism, atogonism, and
a myriad of other ism's could indeed be what is slowly killing boxing.
    Really, fu-k off ESB posters!!

The bigger question is, would GGG stop a prime Ali? I think that given Ali's size and reach advantage, GGG would stop him late.

What do these Wlad nuthuggers see in this GGG guy they love so much. I mean he beat a fighter in Macklin that has got beat everytime he steps up no big win to be honest. Now this GGG hype is out of hand. And if you point out any flaws they call you names and call you a hater. I just don't see it. GGG has toothpick legs and a bad defense. SO far his skin has not failed the I know of. If anyone can tell me if GGG has been cut in a fight that will help find out if I'm overrating his skin . But he gets hit a lot and so far his skin has not cut.

No one is hating on GGG but when you have thread like this , Hyping him to GOAT status when he has yet to defend his title 5 times let alone 20 or 12, agains top opposition. It just make you say WTF MAN!!

Let be honest here GGG beat Maclin, a contender that can't even hold Roldan, Hamsho , Simpson or Binnie Briscoe spit bucket

We just want to see GG get hit back and then some, and see how he responds. When it happened to Wlad and Kostya they folded like cheap suits. Wlad won my respect back, Kostya never did after the Phillips loss. GG is still a ?

By the way, Hagler was greater than Monzon. If I didn't make myself clear. Golovkin hammers the crap out of Monzon. Just because boxers retire or die doesn't warrant them beating everyone in a fight.

Don't be mis led by the way Monzon looked, that's a mistake many modern fans make.
Looking at old films style wise and aesthetically he doesn't look good, but his skills were very subtle and he was as tough as they come with a granite chin.
I like GGG he's very exciting but at this stage to say he'd blow out arguably the greatest middleweight of all time is just plain silly

Carlos Monzon is one of the greatest fighters ever, regardless of weight division. he had one of the most dominating streaks in boxing history up until his death.

Carlos wasn't the fastest guy, nor did he possess great handspeed or sublime defense, but he was a great all around fighter, had a granite chin and could put beautiful combinations together. Great size, technical ability and power for a MW.

I don't think he's the greatest MW of all time. I have him placed 3rd right underneath Ray Robinson and Hagler at the MW division. Than Hopkins probably rounds out the top 4.

It'd be interesting to see how good GGG's chin is because MOnzon would definitely land some shots on him. I'd favor Carlos 70-30 in that fight, I don't see any Middleweight knocking out Carlos MOnzon.

I certainly wouldn't favour any of Monzon's opp against Golo, if that means anything.
