Golovkin is light years ahead of anyone else in the technical department as well, not just power :good

    Lol.

    NO.

Golovkin, while being well schooled, is an ordinary fighter with above average punching power and below average defense. He's not slick but, other than his defense, he is technically sound...

His defense is fine. He just prefers to walk through punches and then hit his opponent way harder.

His defense is more than good. Though based on distance and footwork (easter europe footwork style, not as flashy but equaly effective).

I honestly think that technically he is way above the rest of the other MW boxers, WAY above.

The only thing I find in his boxing that I dont like is that he doesnt know/want to fight on his back foot when he needs to, and that can take him to the grave. And actually it will, sooner or later.

If he were a technically proficient fighter, he'd know how to hit his opponent *without* having to "walk through punches". Boxing is the art of hitting your opponent and NOT getting hit in return.

Why does it matter if the other guy has no power?

We saw that against monroe. Just walk through and destroy.

I meant from 160-168 :D Golovkin does not get outboxed, once he figures he can knock you out, and you cant hurt him, he starts to worry less about defense.

Exactly. At the end of the day you have to figure out if the other guy can hurt you.

If he can't the easiest thing to do is just walk through.

Catching punches from TOMATO CANs does not equal a "more than good" defense. Golovkin's defense does not fit the bill for an "A list" fighter. Not even close.

Not even close. Cotto does everything better than Golovkin. Easily.

I doubt that the Triple Duck knows how to fight effectively off the back foot and his inside fight game leaves something to be desired...

WRONG. There are at least 3-4 guys in that weight range who outbox the Triple Duck.

That's why they keep putting him in the ring with these TOMATO CANs. We'll see how good his defense is when he's put into the ring with a guy who has a good chin and a jab to match...

You have no way to quantify that statement. Go ahead, try. You will only succeed in your continuing crusade to not be taken seriously.

    What does it matter?

He can only fight the TOMATO CANs he's been knocking over for so long. Sooner or later they're gonna have to put him in the ring with a guy who has a pulse *and* a punch. Then we'll see why defense matters...

They want king Golovkin to move up to face larger fighters, knowing full well the only person that has a chance on beating GGG is someone from the 168 division named Ward. Says allot about GGG's ability.
