Hmmm As much as I admire this guy, watching the Curtis fight again tonight. I couldn't help realise the way in which he leaves himself very vulnerable every time he throws a hook. Curtis had a few moments of success and one or two shots did stun Gennady, but I feel a good powerful counter puncher could be a pain in the ass for GGG........:think
That's the whole GGG thing, the clubbing break ya down power. Still need to see him at a higher level, Feb 1st will probably be over in 2 rounds
GGG has said he doesn't like defensive boxing and thinks its boring.he said the fans come for a fight...so don't worry that he leaves himself open...
Yeah, you can't come forward like he does and not take a shot here or there. He does roll and slip a large number of the punches Steven looked like he hit him with. Look at them in slowmo. He was never stunned, though, his legs never soft, and Curtis said immediately after the fight that he simply couldn't hit GGG clean and therefore couldn't catch him with a big shot. I'd say because of the slipping and rolling. Curt is a very hard puncher. If he was catching GGG cleanly, GGG might have gone down or at least would have shown it on his face after the fight.
funny you should mention that. i've watched many of his fights in slo-mo, including Stevens. often i've noticed when an announcer thinks 3G got hit, he didn't, especially Lampley.
