Granted, he is a good puncher, just like Canelo is a good puncher, but Golovkin is not Mike Tyson like people are comparing him nowadays. Tyson, for those of you that started watching boxing in the era of Pacquiao and dksab, was an absolute beast who ended many fights in a single punch and several fights under one minute. He'd knock out his opponents out cold. His first 19 fights ended in knockout, 12 of those in a single round. None of this describes Golovkin, so stop with the bs. Seriously. There's a reason GGG is carefully matched with opponents he'll run through and even then, some of them bums have exposed his flaws.
Depends how you define power. Everything Golovkin lands is a realm away from feather dusting. Every shot has a good amount of power behind it. Even his jab. He doesn't have explosive power, he has concussive power. If ya get what I mean.
Agreed. His placement and timing is really good, his power is great too, but not what people make it out to be. Kovalev has more raw punching power.
Well hes not a heavyweight you fk****. So ofcourse he wont have the power of a Tyson? What are you trying to say LOL
You are correct in that many people overestimate Golovkin's real power and fail to discount ratings based on caliber of opponent. Golovkin doesn't possess Randell Bailey one-punch KO power and so far his combination punching has proven to be highly effective against mediocre opposition. As he steps up the level of competition, above the B-level he has so far fought, we'll actually see that his power is not George Forman quality power but closer to Canelo.
