He has power yeah....But not explosive lights-out-every-punch-type of power. Matthysse has similar power. They stop alot of their opponents but it's rarely in lights-out catch-some-zzzzz's kind of shots. So GGG's pop is probably a little overrated, but he has a high KO ratio so..... his power is definitely there.

21 straight stoppages suggests otherwise. Obviously all 21 didn't go to sleep but consider that Golovkin's knocking out guys with top of the head shots, body shots, with punches that aren't placed on the target's chin is impressive.
Nobody south of Cruiserweight can take a flush bodyshot from Golovkin. His headshots are probably not as powerful as a headshot from Lemieux, but his bodyshots are some of the most powerful in boxing history. Watch his fights and see how he breaks everyone down with bodyshots. GGG is the modern bodysnatcher and he's better than everyone else at it.
Golovkin is a big puncher. He's finished guys like Rubio and Murray. He puts guys over with one devastating shot keeps punishing them for the whole fight and doesn't let them off the hook. He's a bigger puncher than Canelo.
While I do agree that Golovkin's power is a tad bit over rated. He is clearly a whole level above Canelo in the power department.
GGG feels out his opponent. That is the safer way to box. Did you expect him to start trading bombs with Lemieux? Tyson threw caution to the wind and most of his opponents had lost mentally before the opening bell. He had a good chin and trading bombs was almost a guaranteed way to win. Buster Douglas was obviously not **** scared and was on a mission. He used his jab very well and Tyson couldn't land the money shot. The accumulation wore Mike down and the rest is history. GGG is more of a boxer puncher. It isn't his style to blow guys out in 25 seconds. It doesn't mean he doesn't have power.
Golovkin has fantastic power, but it's his timing, balance, defense whenever he needs it, great chin..................no, Golovkin's power is not overrated, it's underrated................
