Im a big fan of fighters who punch correctly, mainly Floyd and Hopkins, but the more I watch GGG the more I see even better technique. I also think his footwork is pure quality. The left hook and right hand are right now the best out there. His only area to really work on is his head movement which is a little limited and this is probably because he believes in his chin so much a little like Carl Froch. However those who say he should move to 168 for thr bigger fights are unfair. He isnt the biggest middle and middle is one of the classic weights. Super middle is actually for small light heavies. Hopkins didnt have the strongest resume of fighters in his early reign but made the divsion his own over longevity , I see the same for GGG. peace.
I don't mind GGG staying at 160 lbs but it isn't and overly strong division right now, at least in terms of guys who can gave GGG a competitive fight. That's why I would like to see him move up, as top super middles could show us more about his level and ability.
His footwork and punching power is unrivalled. I agree, he could move his head more but it almost doesn't matter because nothing fazes him. I've never seen a guy punch like this since hearns.
the guy who is koing people doesnt punch correctly vs. the guy who got raped by handicapped bum. the right term is, ggg's punch isnt textbook, doestn mean it isnt right. serves him. edit: misread. good points.
Would that handicapped be named Singsurat? I don't remember anyone getting raped like that guy who has been KOd 3X!
46 and 0 accomplishment. 46 have tried, 46 have failed to provide legacy.:rofl:rofl who is theftjr's defining win? trex carralez:rofl:hi:
It wasn't JMM that's for sure, you know the guy KTFO6 some roided bum! Pacroid fought damaged goods with names. Who has he beaten that wasn't damaged goods? HBO says GGG is the ONLY fighter who doesn't duck anyone they propose. Who else did Pac duck beyond Floyd?
Actually I am pretty sure he doesnt move his head a lot because of the way he keeps his shoulders level. He parries with his shoulders and controls range with his feet a lot instead of moving his head. Keeping his shoulders even and his head relatively stable keeps him in position to throw leveraged shots without expending a lot of energy. In this manner he is able to avoid or nullify big shots, and punish weak shots. There are disadvantages to his style, but there are also advantages. He is never going to be "slick" , he will never be a back foot fighter and trying to be would make the things he is good at less effective.
Speaking of punch technique, 2 Days Kovalev is up on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Su9qhHpRGVs
