Why was Pacquiao making that excuse that he is scared of needles and taking blood would make him weak? C'mon, like it isn't the same for everyone?

Yeah, this makes perfect sense. If they was going to add numbers to that stat system than wouldn't it be a better idea to, ya'kno, add extra punches to Canelo's to make the scores less suspicious. You're trying to tell us with your post that someone was trying to sabotage Canelo, the GUY who got the gift decision.

    Nice effort though, truly.

Agreed. I had it 116-112 GGG but a lot of people had it 115-113 so for someone to have it a draw isnt a stretch. I have no problem with the judges scorecards outside of that imbecile Adalaide.

I think the point is it wasn't a robbery and these stats and commentators influence people's perceptions while they are watching the fight.

Of course some people will say they are impervious to being influenced by such things, maybe they are, maybe they aren't, but I could hazard a guess that most people aren't.

Nah....there's a difference between close and competitive. It was competitive when DLH lost a split decision against Floyd...it was competitive when GGG beat Alvarez but was scored a draw...Ward vs Kovalev 1 was close. If GGG "barely" eeked it out on your card then you may need to watch the fight sober. That, or you are a MASSIVE Nelo fan and can see things objectively. The overwhelming consensus is reality. The people who gave the fight to Nelo or thought the fight was close is incredibly small....those who make up the minority are obviously fanatics and can't be taken seriously. Just look at list below. These are mostly pro boxers, writers and analyst. I think it's safe to say GGG without a doubt won clearly

Shh. Just give me your scorecard. Why do people NEVER want to answer a question related to the topic. Instead of arguing you bring up irrelevant information I'm aware of. Of course there's a difference between a clear win and a fight that could go either way. But that would require clear rounds. GGG did not win 7 clear rounds.

I think you're reasonable enough that trying to make the claim that Alvarez won would make you look ridiculous because there's no possible way to justify the nod going to Alvarez. Those who are making that claim are automatically written off and not taken seriously.

Anyone who thinks that GGG won 7 clear rounds, and there is no case in those 7 rounds for Canelo should be written off and not taken seriously. Clear bias.

Like I said, I had 4-9 and 11 for GGG. 1 being even, and Canelo winning 2-3, 10, 12. Some had Canelo winning 1-3, and 10-12. Stop yapping and just give your scorecard.

While this thread has turned into a debate about scoring, I think it's important that we bring it back to the topic at hand, the issue of punch stats being visibly wrong based on what we were seeing on the screen towrads the end of some of the rounds.

We have evidence of a round where Canelo was significantly ahead in punch stats with 15 seconds left in the round based on the on-screen real-time punch stats HBO put on there.

The final numbers in that round however have G ahead on punch stats in that round which is mathematically impossible.

Now I’ve seen the argument used in this thread that punch stats don’t matter, which I happen to agree with. But this is clear evidence of some type of punch stat manipulation. As you well know, while some of us know punch stats are complete BS and we know that they can’t be used to score a fight, many many times fans on this very forum use punch stats to “justify” their scoring of a fight to someone.

Triple G himself in the post fight press conference, one of the first things he mentioned when talking about how the scorecards were “bad for boxing” was the “total punches” on the compubox. G himself was using the compubox to basically make the argument that the Byrd’s scoring was bad for boxing. Now while I personally don’t trust Compubox, the fact of the matter is that they are used on the broadcast, they are used as a supplement to the scoring. Now if you have clear manipulation of rounds that Canelo had a punch stats advantage real time, but then the final totals have G with a punch stat advantage in that very same round, then that’s a real issue that we need to get an explanation for.

Compubox are clearly a subliminal way that is used to influence who we thought won the fight. Lets face it, the first thing everybody looks at after the decision is reach is the punch stats. So the arguments people are making that it doesn’t matter so why should we care doesn’t hold any water. The fact of the matter is the Compubox is used to give us a sense of who landed more punches in the fight. If these numbers are being messed with, then clearly that is some type of corruption or at least something that needs to be explained by HBO, by the Compubox people, whoever.

Have we ever seen a fight where a real-time compubox count was on screen close to the end of the round like that, only to have the final number be mathematically impossible? We need to hear from the folks that thought G won, the G fans, to admit that something’s not right here.

His resume is decent. Not great...borderline good. Not really his fault. It's a weak director division. Hopkins had the same issue before Trinidad decided to move up in weight. Alvarez is GGG's Tito. I doubt he'll have the career Bhop had, but he's gotten his big name fighter, he won and he should be in line for bigger fights in the future to strengthen his resume

Freddie Roach his trainer said it, the fact is though, he refused the tests so the fight was called off in 2009.
