Well I would say Golovkin winning the 3rd fight is a stretch, could Golovkin possibly of earned a draw in the 3rd fight ? I would say yes. Just like I think it's possible Canelo could've earned a draw in the 1st fight, although I think the general perception is that Golovkin won the 1st fight in region of 7-5 or 8-4.
1. Canelo Alvarezx2 2. Daniel Jacobs 3. Sergiy Derevyanchenko 4. Ryota Murata 5. David Lemieux 6. Martin Murray 7. Willie Monroe 8. Kell Brook 9. Gabriel Rosado 10. Marco Antonio Rubio 11. Curtis Stevens 12. Matthew Macklin 13. Vanes Martirosyan 14. Steve Rolls 15. Nobuhiro Ishida 16. Kamil Szeremeta 17. Daniel Geale 18. Grzegorz Proksa 19. Siarhei Khamitski 20. Kassim Ouma
Not a Canelo fan at all I just don't think Golovkin's list of victories are that impressive compared to other ATG Middleweights, the issue I have is that you guys are holding onto the controversial fight vs Canelo to heighten his resume. But seem to put the blinders on for Golovkin's controversial win over Derevyanchenko, and the close victory over Jacobs. Yeah the 1st Canelo fight Golovkin was unlucky not to get the nod, but I see nothing with Canelo winning fights 2 and 3. So even if you give Golovkin the 1st Canelo fight, he still lost fairly to Canelo in fights 2 and 3.
1.Jacobs, shoulda gave him a rematch though, never did. 2. Kells, much tougher than it should have been, but at least he escaped with the dub, gotta give him credit for that. 3. Gabe Rosado, solid win over solid competition. Couldn't put him down though. 4. Devin Lemoux, this guy SUCKS, all hype, but at least GG didn't make it harder than it needed to be. 5. Kassim Ouma, another solid win over a solid fighter. If you're a GG fan, this is about all you can ask for
What has Derevyanchecko ever done? Who would you bounce off the list to add him? I guess you could swap him with Lemoux if you really wanted to, I wouldn't lose much sleep over it though
Arguably beat GGG for instance. Alao you have to take context of their careers aswell,Ouma for instance was done when they fought. Personally I dont see Derevyanchenko lower than 3rd.
You don't know what you are really looking at when it comes to boxing. Can tell boxing "fans" who only try to look at names they know or like.
Dude, he beat Tereno Johnson, in what world does that qualify you for three shots at a world title? Look I'm not here to bash Deverencheko, but if you are propping him up as one of GGs best opponents, that's pretty sad and actually kind of illustrates the knock on GG
Oh, you're one of those who thinks a single win is what qualifies you for a title shot. Gotcha.... I'm sure you've questioned ALL title shots for guys who got it after a sub-par win. cool story...
Well if it wasn't Terino Johnson then what win was it? Who did deverchenko ever defeat to warrant 3 title shots?
