And also arguably his best opponent. In his 8th pro fight, the French Aye-Rab in the clip below was on his butt for 6 rounds, won a few and gave him a black eye.

You can tell in this clip just how incredible GGG's skills were when he was young. Sorry Golovkunts, he's just not the same guy that an 80-1 underdog was bouncing shot off, now.

He spent some time in this fight painting his opponent with the jab, and even fought off his back foot like Toney or Wilfredo Benitez a bit! His power, coordination, legs, balance, speed, defense, and killer instinct are all on display here. He even goes for the KO in the last :30.

Watching this fight makes me wonder if Abel Sanchez has really improved him at all, although he is a 33 1/2 year old pressure fighter now, and I don't see him being undefeated on his 35th birthday, sorry.

Postscript, the guy he fought went on go give a good effort, but get KOed by Abraham, and Kessler in his two title shots. I think this version of this guy beats any version of Martin Murray though...

I was re-watching his fight against Proska yesterday. He's come far. He looks a lot bigger today as well, as a whole.

Curious, who do you see him losing to by the time he is 35?

Age is the opponent nobody ever beats. I didn't realize how mediocre he has looked in his last two fights until I watched this one.

You watch the Monroe fight, he is tired in the second round, he pretty much takes the third round off and eats punches. Abel says he is doing it on purpose, but as Freddie Roach says, "that's bull****." Nobody who has been in a boxing ring 400 times lets someone hit him in the face.

GGG's legs just aren't what they used to be. He had a hell of a time cutting off the ring against Martin Murray the fight before that as well. Murray has never been a boxer. In his last two fights he kind of looks like old Mike Tyson beating guys up on sheer power and experience.

When they say he's avoiding Lara, I believe it, as ridiculous as it sounded a month ago. It could be Rahim- Morales II.

At this point in his career where he can't get a big fight, I believe it. Even Abel Sanchez told Gennady in the corner after the 4th round, "Let's not show him how tough we are." Sanchez knew in that moment Gennady was letting Monroe back into the fight. Then, when Gennady had enough, he finished him off.

It may be hard to believe to some, but not to me when I realize how above GGG is to Monroe in terms of class. And, I think he should keep doing it. These dude's are just not willing to get in the ring, but maybe if they think he's easy to hit, then it can coax bigger names to get into the ring. GGG is 33, so it's definitely a possible circumstance going on considering time is of the essence.

But, we can agree to disagree. I respect your opinion. :good

Also, I don't think he is avoiding Lara. I think he just realizes Lara is an impossible opponent to ever fight since he's with Al Haymon. Lara probably knows that too and is just using GGG's name.

Actually stupidity is the opponent nobody ever beats and this is especially true in your case.

I hear you Bro., but you have to understand, I hear Haymon has another fighter who fights at 147 and 154, he's pretty good, and GGG is supposedly dieting down to have a chance to fight him now...

His name escapes me right now.

Really? What round? Because Golovkin said through his amateurs and pro fights, he's never been truly hurt.

Really.... I was watching the fight, and I saw the shot. I told myself, "I really hope that's not the shot he's referring to or he's reaching. It wasn't bad."

Seriously, Mayweather's reaction to Maidana's right hand in the 3rd rd rematch was worse than Gennady's reaction to that punch. GGG just took a couple steps back and nodded his head at him.

It was flush, good shot but nearly knocked out? Holding on for dear life? Come on... Gennady still won that round!

And, yes, if you're hit enough, you will get a black eye. It's a normal response from your body, has nothing to do with chin. And, Tyrell got him with a body shot (probably liver shot), and that's not chin either. Even Tyrell said how GGG is no hype and a great fighter. Stop hating Boxed!!! :nono

I am now anti-GGG....why does GGG look similar to 666...??? Hmmmmm, Illuminati...???

Bad ear, glass ribcage, bad chin, bad skin; sounds like my grandfather on his deathbed...!!!

I never got to meet my great-grandfather though, but he was famous. He was America's first abortion victim...!!! His uncle invented Cliff-Notes, and when asked he said, "Well to make a long story short"...!!!

Back to 666, errr GGG.......he's the worstest; bad acne, bad breath, bad skin, bad English, bad ear. He should be banned from boxing...!!!
