Joe Louis was something else. How the Hell can someone retain the championship for 11 years? I mean, think of who you were 11 years ago and what you did then. To me, that feels like an entire lifetime away. Then consider that Louis reigned throughout that entire period of time.

He had bonecrushing power and was always in the position to throw a power punch - usually a combination. The Max Baer fight is one of the best displays of combination punching I've ever seen by a heavyweight. The Carnera fight similarly shows a great deal of skill (slipping, getting on the inside) but is unfortunately obscured by bad film quality.

I think Wlad's jab and footwork would give Louis trouble, but I'm not sure whether Wlad can survive once he gets tagged, which will happen sooner or later.

A fight with Vitali would be a war, not sure who to pick here.

Lennox is the only one of the superheavyweights who I'd pick to beat Louis 2 out of 3.

As for Bowe? Given how Holyfield often was hitting him, I think Bowe's fictional career in after this fantasy matchup would take a nose-dive because Louis hits a lot harder and faster. Riddick liked to mix it up, and Joe Louis is one guy you don't want to mix it up with.. Bowe wouldn't be standing after the 6th.

Some people will give Volodymyr credit in a Louis h2h scenario but they always end with that statement, which is true. What they always fail to note is that the same can be said for Louis if Volodymyr lands clean on him and Klychko will have alot more oppertunity to land punches in general and connect with that clean shot first.
