Hagler would be way too strong for Giardello

Giardello at his best could win a decision.

Giardello would have been capable of decisioning Hagler, as Bodhi said, only at his very best..as I believe that Giardello was a wilier cat than even Duran was.

Giardello is very capable of giving Hagler different angles and not letting him get into an offensive rythym...but I think Hagler would eventually press, forcing Giardello into a more physical fight, cutting off Giardello's spacing and also making him expend more energy than he would want to...Hagler would finish much stronger...
I'd take Hagler by a solid decision.

Hagler fighting at a high pace would win imo, he'd eat counters but it would be ok because he'd do just that, eat them, and win. Hagler is possibly the better boxer, via speed in his prime, but i don't think he'll be fighting in that vein in this one, i think he'll be aggressive. Hagler is probably the best mw ever.

Haglers ability to take away the jab is the biggest factor here.

Early I see Giardello figuring out he can't use the jab and feinting and wlaking Hagler on to counter right hands and left hooks but as the bout wears on Haglers intensity and baility to put punches together will start to tell.

I think Joey troubles Marvin early on with his skills and movement, but the tenacity of Hagler will eventually begin to wear him down. I like Hagler by comfortable UD.
